Most patients are healing well at 4 weeks. I do not allow strenuous activity for 6 weeks following the tummy tuck.
Most patients are engaging in light exercise by 4 weeks after a tummy tuck.Of course every patient is different, and only your surgeon know what exactly was done, what hernias were repaired, the strength of the tissues, the age of the patient, conduct of the surgery, underlying medical conditions, etc. that might affect the recovery.
Thank you for your question. At four weeks out from a tummy tuck, you should be seeing a distinct improvement in the contour of he abdomen. Swelling should be almost completely resolved at this time and you can typically begin increasing your activities as far as low impact aerobic activities, walking, stationary cycling, etc. Your surgeon will likely want to take photos to document your recovery. Typically at 6 weeks post operative it is safe to resume all types of exercise activity, ie; running weight lifting and more vigorous forms of exercise. Best Wishes,Dr. Morrissey
