Thank you for your question. Every surgeon has their own specific post-operative protocol based on their training and experience with a given procedure. As such, it is recommended that you defer to your operating surgeon to discuss your specific post-operative restrictions (including consumption of alcohol). As a general rule, you should not consume any alcoholic beverages while taking any narcotic pain medication. Please speak/follow up with your operating surgeon. I hope you find this helpful and I wish you all of the best.
No alcohol as long as your taking pain meds. You need to check with your operating surgeon for post op instruction. Good Luck
You should check with your surgeon on this, for my patients I tell them to wait until they are off pain medication before drinking alcohol. Be careful though, beer has a lot of calories and you don't want to undo your great result. Good luck!
Thank you for your question. Certainly check with your Dr. On this one. In my own practice I don't like people even takeing a chance if they are still on narcotics after surgery. Checked in with your Dr. Use common sense. Alcohol is full of calories and you certainly don't want to go backwards or gain weight after you just had a beautiful Tummy tuck. Best wishes
I recommend drinking only after you have stopped all pain meds. Don't forget that beer is chock full of calories.
As noted below, you can not mix alcohol and pain meds. Beyond that please contact your plastic surgeon for when they feel comfortable allowing you to resume drinking within reason.
Thank you for the question! I would definitely advise you to direct this question to your surgeon since he or she would be more familiar with your recovery progress at this moment. As a general rule of thumb, however, you should avoid any alcohol as long as you're still taking post-op medications. An in-person exam with a board-certified plastic surgeon would be the best way to assess your needs and guarantee a reliable medical advice. Best of luck!
In general, you should wait until you are not taking pain medication before consuming alcohol. After that, drinking in moderation should be fine, but it is best to discuss with your surgeon his or her post-operative plan for you. Best of luck in your recovery -
It is not a good idea to drink alcohol right after surgery especially if you are taking pain meds. Best to ask your doc when you are clear to use it.
Simple answer... you may drink a little when you are off your pains meds. You may drink more when you are fully healed and can not hurt anything from your surgery. (6-8 weeks)
Thanks for the question. Generally, most patients can travel within 2 to 4 weeks after Tummy Tuck surgery. However, car or airplane travel should be avoided to prevent the risk of blood clots in the legs. I wish you all the best.

After tummy tuck, some nerve endings do not reconnect and you can get a ball of scar tissue at the end of the nerves called a neuroma. Since your symptoms are not too intense, see your surgeon or medical doctor and consider medical management. One option would be taking Gabapentin or injecting...
