In general, the most effective way to tighten skin in the abdominal area is to remove the excess with a tummy tuck. This may be excessive in your case, but it is impossible to provide a good recommendation based on your single limited photo. Other possible options may include treatment with one of the skin tightening devices currently available. The best answer can be provided by seeing a board-certified plastic surgeon for a formal consultation.
Hello and thank you for your question! When it comes to excess skin and skin laxity, a tummy tuck is a great option to mitigate these issues. However, with the picture you provided it is difficult to say whether that would be the best option for your individual case. I recommend being evaluated in office by a plastic surgeon to assess what procedure and techniques would be most appropriate for your concerns. Hope this helps!
Hello PeaceLove999!We offer a procedure called Renuvion that could help improve this issue. It can be done with liposuction or alone and is quite effective. You can find more information about this on Real Self and by googling Renuvion.
Depending on the severity of the skin laxity, you may be able to treat sagging and crepey skin non-surgically with Morpheus8 (microneedling with radio frequency) or a CO2 laser treatment such as Helix. Either treatment will require a minimum of 3 treatments however there is very little downtime. This recommendation is based on the up-close photo only. It is hard to tell at this view if you will need further procedures.
In addressing your concern about sagging tummy skin, it's important to understand that the effectiveness of a procedure can vary depending on individual factors such as the extent of sagging, skin quality, and overall health. Generally, for significant sagging and loss of elasticity in the tummy area, a tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) is often considered the most effective surgical option. This procedure involves removing excess skin and fat and tightening the abdominal muscles, leading to a firmer, smoother abdominal profile.Non-surgical options, like radiofrequency treatments or laser therapies, can offer mild to moderate skin tightening but are usually less effective for significant sagging skin compared to a tummy tuck. These non-surgical treatments might be more appropriate if the sagging is less severe or if you prefer a procedure with less downtime and fewer risks. It's crucial to have a personalized consultation with a trained plastic surgeon. They can assess your specific situation, discuss your aesthetic goals, and recommend the most suitable treatment plan. Keep in mind that each procedure has its own set of risks and benefits, and your surgeon can help you understand these in the context of your individual needs and health status. All of that being said, bending over should produce some wrinkles in your skin - that is normal.
Thank you for your questions and photo. A tummy tuck will address excess skin & repair of the abdominal muscle. The abdominal wall can be weakened after pregnancy and (or) significant weight gain & loss. By repairing the muscle, not only does the appearance of your abdominal area improve, but your core strength as well. The repair of the muscle will cinch your waist like an inner corset, which will accentuate your curves. Liposuction will remove excess fat from unwanted areas with some skin retraction. Your expectations and health will dictate the best procedure(s) for you. I suggest a consultation with a board certified plastic surgeon to go over the options that best address your goals. Thank you for reaching out with your question about addressing wrinkles above the belly button.Tummy Tuck (Abdominoplasty): This surgical procedure is highly effective for removing wrinkles. A tummy tuck can significantly reduce or even eliminate wrinkles by tightening the abdominal skin. The procedure typically lasts 3 to 4 hours under general anesthesia, and you should anticipate a recovery period of two to three weeks.Radiofrequency (RF) Treatment: For those who may not require or desire a surgical approach, RF treatments offer a non-invasive alternative. RF can tighten the skin by stimulating collagen production. The success of RF treatments can vary based on several factors, including genetic predispositions, age, sun exposure history, pregnancy history, weight fluctuations, and previous abdominal surgeries.Given the range of factors that influence skin elasticity and response to treatment, a comprehensive physical examination by a qualified professional is essential. This will help determine the most suitable method for your specific case.I hope this information guides you toward the best option for achieving smoother abdominal skin. Best of luck in your journey toward a more rejuvenated appearance.Sincerely,Dr. Katzen
Thanks for your question. It is difficult to provide you with a recommendation based on this picture. I suggest you upload better pictures from the front and sides for a proper evaluation or to schedule a consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take care, Dr. Moises Salama, board certified plastic surgeon.
It is difficult to see from that photo. If you've had children then a tummy tuck is almost always the best option.
A tummy tuck is really the only solution that works. Non invasive skin tightening simply will not give you the impression cement you are looking for nor will liposuction
