Why is there always a dent under my eyes in pictures?

This is difficult to answer without pictures, but this sounds like you have hollowing in the tear trough area. A combination approach will give the most improvement. Fillers, lasers and microneedling/prp improve this. I recommend getting a formal evaluation with a cosmetic dermatologist. Best, Dr. Emer

Generally speaking, dermal fillers are a great option for face contouring. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. All fillers last a long time in the undereye area because it is not a highly dynamic area. Currently, the best fillers for that area are Volbella®/Restylane®Silk/Belotero®. Please consult a board certified aesthetic dermatologist for a consultation.

A picture would be very helpful but I would guess that you have volume loss in the mid cheek and tear trough. I would consider adding a filler, such as Restylane, using blunt cannula technique. Cannulas are the safest way to inject around the eye area because there is less bruising and less risk for vascular occlusion or blindness. This should be done by an experienced injector in this area.

Filler can be used to add volume to hollow areas under the eyes and disguise irregularities.  There are many filler types available and an evaluation is needed to determine if you are a candidate and which filler is best for you.  I recommend contacting a board certified plastic surgeon in your area for a consultation.

It's hard to give you a complete answer without evaluating you in person or seeing a photo. That being said, it sounds like you have undereye hollows/volume loss and this can be treated using filler. I prefer Restylane (not Juvederm) for this indication and inject it using a microcannula to minimize bruising and swelling.

A photo would be a valuable piece of information but based on your description it is due to hollowing of the under eye area which may be percieved by individuals as "hollowing", "dark lines", or a "dent" in your case. It is due to a shadowing effect which is accentuated by the light with a flash. A complete evaluation would be best and if it is a hollowing/shadow issue you have the non-surgical option of fillers (which I prefer) or surgery.

It is difficult to understand your problem without an appropriate photograph. Generally speaking, both filler and surgery can be used to smooth the lower eyelid area or hide bags. Hyaluronic acid fillers such as Restylane to the lower eyelid area can smooth and lighten the shadows from hollowing. If too much filler is injected, it can be quickly dissolved with hyaluronidase. There is minimal downtime but it will last for less than a year before you need more filler injected. For permanent results, excess bulging fat can removed or repositioned through small incisions behind the eyelid so that the transition between your eyelid and the cheek is as smooth as possible. There is also a greater amount of downtime with surgery and fat repositioning/grafting - you can expect to be bruised and swollen for a few weeks but it is more of a permanent fix. For the best treatment options, it is important to visit an expert for an in-person examination. Hope this helps!

Hello anon705991,It is hard to give you the best advise without good pictures. However, it appears you have some hollowness under your eyes giving you that appearance. Filler augmentation under your eyes would be a reasonable solution. I would personally stay away from juvederm. Restylane, belotero would be a better option. Please seek out an oculoplastic surgeon for a more detailed exam and treatment plan.Cheers

is difficult to assess your needs, however it sounds like you are noticing
dynamic lines when you are smiling in combination with volume loss under the
eyes. These issues can be addressed with a small dose of Botox and a dermal
filler such as Restylane to restore lost volume. I recommend scheduling a
