I just got juvaderm in my top lip and now have bruising and what appears to be a hematoma. It just feels really swollen and kind of hurts, but not terrible. What do I do? I'm icing it right now. I called my doctor but only got VM. A little worried. This is my first time having anything done.

Answer: Bruising and swelling after lip augmentation
This lump above the lip is not a vein. It is Juvederm which has been misplace. I see this sometimes as I am injecting that there is a channel that the fillers spreads to during injection. I can easily be dissolved with hyaluronidase. You might try massage to the area but it probably won't work.
It's my opinion that a small volume of a local injection of hyaluronic acid with lidocaine (most versions of fillers now come mixed with lidocaine) should pose virtually no risk of significant systemic absorption and reincorporation into breast milk in enough concentration to hurt a baby...
