Hi there I have a problem with my nose it looks bent to one side It feels like one side is more concave and the other side more boney I went to see and ent doctor he told me my nose is perfectly straight when he looked with an instrument So what could be causing this problem Could it be just excess bone on one side that needs to be shaved down ? Also I have a problem with a bulbous nasal tip that I would like fixed how could I get that fixed ? Is a cephalic trim the best way ? Thanks

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photograph, you may benefit from a tip refining rhinoplasty. Your surgeon can accomplish this by trimming, suturing, and reshaping the cartilage in your lower nose. You may also benefit from spreader grafts to help improve your nasal symmetry. Make sure you specifically look at before and after pictures of real patients who have had this surgery performed by your surgeon and not just a computer animation system. The most important aspect is to find a surgeon you are comfortable with. I recommend that you seek consultation with a qualified board-certified plastic surgeon who can evaluate you in person. Best wishes and good luck. Richard G. Reish, M.D. FACS Harvard-trained plastic surgeon

Answer: Rhinoplasty Hi,Thank you for including photos. Based on the frontal views you provided, I agree that the right side is depressed. This can be fixed with spreader grafts (possibly just on the right) with or without osteotomies (controlled fracture of nasal bones). The nasal tip can be refined with a cephalic trim and tip suturing. You may need other supporting grafts as well. It is not possible to devise an entire operative plan without an in person evaluation and medical quality photographs, but this is a rough outline of the treatment you can expect from a rhinoplasty expert.Best,Mehdi Sina, MD
