Just had an FUE transplant done, how long should I wait to get back to the heavy lifting part of my job?

We all know that construction work sometimes can be heavy work, well my job is one where we tend to do heavy lifting often. . I already started working and my boss is being careful with me, it's been 2 weeks now. Is it safe to begin lifting?

Chances are that you should be good to go at 2 weeks as far as heavy lifting.  Of course you should be careful not to traumatize any of the new grafts, and you should also confirm this plan with the hair transplant surgeon.  Good luck!

Two weeks would be more than adequate for hair growth. As far as widening of scars, this will take closer to six weeks, if you have had FUT. For FUE, 10-14 days is good.

Your practice should have advised you on all post care instructions as this is somewhat dependent on your medical history.  Assuming you have no signifiant medical history that would require a prolonged healing process, I would expect after 1 week you should be able to resume all regular activities.  I do have my patients avoid chlorinated pools for an additional week however.  Hope this helps! Dr. Rome

I usually tell my patients one week, though as you an see from the other responses this can vary from surgeon to surgeon.  Best to check with your surgeon who knows the details of your procedure.

Thanks for posting your question. You should let your hair transplant doctor guide you. Some patients are ready to return to exercise (heavy lifting) after two weeks, and other patients need more time. Your surgeon should give you clearance to return as your surgeon knows exactly what was done, the length and stability of your hair follicles during the transplant, your medical history, and how you are healing.
