Answer: Cheek Liposuction Perfectly Safe I perform Cheek Liposuction in my Manhattan office several times each week and find it to be quite safe and very effective. In fact, I use it because of my frustration with the subtle outcomes I've gotten using buccal fat removal alone. For my patients with truly chubby cheeks I sometimes do both procedures. Combined with chin and neck liposuction, we can create a very elegant facial structure. I invite you to check out my blog (attached).Good Luck!

Answer: Liposuction of the cheek can be dangerous...of the neck...a bit safer I would not recommend liposuction in the cheek area. In addition to the risk of damaging nerves and blood vessels, it can create a very abnormal contour. When cheeks are plump, it is usually a sign of fat descent or fat redistribution in the face. Fat such as this should usually be repositioned as opposed to removed. Liposuction of the neck is much safer...if done correctly.

Answer: Liposuction above the line of the jaw is usually not a good idea. In younger patients prominent sheiks occasionally benefit from reduction of the buccal fat pad perform to the inside of the mouth. Seldom does a situation exist where liposuction of the subcutaneous fat above the jawline is aesthetically a good choice.

Answer: Liposuction complications Dear Sammy2811,Thank you for your questions. Without photos and a physical exam I can only give you generalized comments. The common risks and complications include but not limited to:1) Bleeding, hematoma(blood collections), seroma (fluid collections)2) infection3) Anesthesia, medication and allergic reactions4) Inherent risks: small scars, contour irregularity, nerve damage.Only superficial fat and only precisely liposuctioned should be done because of the location of motor facial nerves. Please make a appt. with experienced Plastic Surgeon who is Certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and ideally a member of the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (denoting by membership as having met additional criteria and a focus on Cosmetic Plastic Surgery). My best wishes,

Answer: Is cheek liposuction dangerous? The short answer is potentially yes. Buccal fat pad removal which is done from inside the mouth, has the potential to damage the facial nerve as does superficial liposuction in the cheek area. The facial nerve works all the expressive muscles in your face. As others have said it would be unusual for liposuction of subcutaneous fat above the jawline to be a good choice.
