I am a male aged 66 and have had two facelifts with Mr Jones. One in 2009 and the second three months ago in 2019. I consider Mr Jones to be one of the best facelift surgeons not only within the UK, but on an international level as well. My first facelift with Mr Jones in 2009 was an outstanding success. Following the operation I looked about 15 years younger and much better looking. The result was completely natural, and due to his great skill the scars were so well hidden as to be virtually undetectable. Both my career and relationships were greatly enhanced as a result. However, nothing lasts forever and after 9 and a half years I felt that the natural ageing process had brought me back to nearly how I looked ten years previously; I decided to consult concerning a revision facelift. Although I owed a great debt of gratitude to Mr Jones, a facelift is such a life-changing event that I decided that in addition to seeing Mr Jones, I would also consult with 5 of the most highly regarded facelift surgeons in the UK. Out of these 5 surgeons one recommended waiting for another three years (by which time I would have been 69!) and the other 4 all had somewhat different recommendations as to what procedures should be involved. After carefully weighing up and assessing the proposals of these other 4 top surgeons I decided that Mr Jones had the best approach. He has a low-risk approach and had very good explanations for the procedures he recommended and those he advised against. So on that basis I decided to go again with Mr Jones. I am now three months post-op. I would say that a good estimate of how old I look now would be about 45 since a few people I have recently met have suggested I look about that age. But I am now 66 and will be 67 in December. A different technique was used this time (plication) and the result is very natural and the scars very well concealed indeed; so as to be virtually undetectable. I would point out that in addition to the facelift I have followed a regular exercise program for the last 30 years and have had a very healthy, mainly vegetarian diet for the last 20 years. So diet and exercise have been other factors which have enabled this great result.
I was born with a cleft lip and was very lucky to have treatment as a baby which was very good, at Great Ormond St, considering it was the 1970s. I had further surgery on the NHS at 16 with Barry Jones and privately in my 30s to improve my profile. His treatment and consultations were outstanding and I will be forever grateful. Few people have ever noticed that I was born with a cleft lip.
Amazing and talented surgeon and a great team. Would highly recommend to anyone. He is extremely reassuring during the whole process and the aftercare is excellent! I am seeing the results already and I am thrilled.
I have had 3 major procedures spanning 20 years and am delighted with the results which is why I keep going back to see Mr. Jones and the team. The only problem is that I keep getting mistaken for my grandchildren's father and have had to show my driving licence twice now on the trains when producing my senior citizen railcard. At 63 I look more like early forties. Life is so much better when you feel confident with your appearance. It's all been so worthwhile.
I never go on the internet to give any feedback as I do not really trust information I read as fact, and prefer a verbal recommendation from someone that has had previous surgery. However, following my very recent facelift and upper lid blepharoplasty, I feel compelled to write as I am so delighted with the results, even though it is very early days and I am still in the healing process. Mr Jones was recommended by my husband’s friend, whose wife had undergone surgery with excellent results. I have had a number of procedures carried out over the past few years by Mr Jones and have always been more than happy with the outcome. He is a first class surgeon and his work is so subtle and natural looking. Considering he is such a gifted surgeon, it has not gone to his head as I find him to be a very approachable and down to earth man. His anaesthetist, Mr Forrester, is also brilliant and ensures that you are not in any pain or discomfort following surgery. All of Mr Jones’s staff at his consulting rooms are very friendly and welcoming, particularly Sheila. I would definitely recommend Mr Jones and his team.
I am 57 years old and had breast implants about 15 years ago, due to body changes shape/weight loss I felt I would benefit from an uplift (Mastoplexy). The original implants had hardened slightly over the years, when I had the surgery in 1999, Mr Jones did discuss with me the life span of implants, so I felt the time was right to undergo this procedure. I have smaller implants now together with the uplift, which gives me a beautiful shaped breast in keeping with my size.
Having lost weight and with my daughter's wedding looming I was recommended to Mr Barry Jones for the above procedures. Absolutely amazed with the result . I cannot thank him enough and would highly recommend him. I found the whole experience reassuring both with Mr Jones' professionalism and his personal team.
My procedure with Dr Barry Jones in a whole was easy and efficient from start to finish... His experience and professionalism towards my Rhinoplasty was impressive to say the least and I felt confident before and after the procedure. It can be nerve racking talking about certain insecurities you have and Dr Barry Jones made me feel welcome and comfortable during my first consultation. I felt we were on the same page in regards to what I wanted, he was honest and realistic and gave me a detailed step by step guide of how the procedure would go. The hospital where the procedure was carried out was King Edward VII sister agnes in London. The Hospital is amazing, the staff and facilities were first class and the food was exceptional. Dr Barry Jones see's you before and after the operation and was very informative. After the removal of the cast I was extremely happy with the outcome, the changes he made to my nose were exactly what I was looking for! It was done in such a subtle way, that if you had not seen my nose before the operation... You wouldn't even know I had Rhinoplasty! I would recommend Dr Barry Jones to anyone... Many thanks.
My arms at the top although skinny had loose skin bagging on the underside and so I could no longer wear stroppy tops. At the same time I thought as one day soon I was to have a facelift that I would get them done together and my surgeon was happy with that and did a fabulous job to the effect that no one has guessed and I have 6 children, although my husband of course knew
Two weeks ago I had a full lower facelift, with top eyelid surgery and chin surgery. I felt happy and confident because my surgeon is the very best and most well respected in his field in the UK. Surgery started at around 8.30 am and I was back in my room by lunchtime. I felt great, awake, no pain, almost no discomfort , had a compression bandage and two drains around my head and just some thin tape on my eyelids - I was drinking tea and watching television by 3.30pm. I was well informed and well prepared and chose an amazing surgeon with a brilliant team operating from London's most famous hospital. Mr Jones my surgeon visited me every day while I was in hospital and the follow up appointments with his nursing team to remove the stitches and check on progress was just wonderful . I have lots of images which unfortunately I cannot transfer onto this computer - but trust me - I look gorgeous ! I am almost seventy years old .
When this type of surgery is carried out carefully, recovery return to daily life is in the region of two weeks. It is wise to leave a week to relax and do very little and a second week to take life relatively slowly.
The short answer is potentially yes. Buccal fat pad removal which is done from inside the mouth, has the potential to damage the facial nerve as does superficial liposuction in the cheek area. The facial nerve works all the expressive muscles in your face. As others have said it would be unusual for liposuction of subcutaneous fat above the jawline to be a good choice.
It is not a good idea to use ice on the face after surgery. It is too cold and can cause serious damage via frost bite. It is better to use damp cloths cooled in the fridge (4 degrees) not the freezer.
In most people sensitivity will recover in the cheeks over 4-6 months. In some it may be slower and recovery can continue for as long as 2 years.
