Hello! Since three months I've been struggling with a chalazion that doesn't go away. My doctor gave me eye drops, antibiotics and yesterday he finally removed it by an small incision, however I still see and feel the bump on my eyelid, will this go away? Or will I need another surgery? Thank you for your time and answers in advance

Answer: Residual inflammation for chalazion A chalazion that has been there for 3 months is considered chronic and a mature "wall" has formed around it. Whether or not the bump will go away depends on whether or not there was any maneuver during your surgery yesterday to scrape out the walls of the cyst. If an incision was made and simply allowed to drain, chances are it will fill back up again. If the walls were aggressively scraped so that the sac heals down, the bump will resolve once the swelling goes away (probably about a week).

Answer: Bump after Chalazion Surgery It is rather common to have a residual bump after chalazion surgery. If it has been three months, you should go back and ask about alternative options - like Kenalog injections - which might be an option for you. Warm compresses always help as well. Topical medications probably won't do anything for you at this point.
