Thank you for sharing your question. You can have these procedures performed the same week. You should consider having both performed at the same time. Good luck!
Doing a PRP microneedling (vampire lift) during your blepharoplasty recovery is a good idea. They can be combined the same week, or at the same time.Best wishes, Dr. Denkler
Thank you for your question. You’re asking if you can get a Vampire Facial® inthe same week as a lower eyelid blepharoplasty, because you’re hoping to overlap the healing processes.First a bit of information about myself – I’m aBoard-certified cosmetic surgeon and Fellowship-trained oculofacial plastic surgeon, practicing in Manhattan and Long Island for over 20 years. I’ve been part of the Vampire Facelift® network for many years, and have been an information resource for network media on topics concerning the Vampire Facelift®, as well as associated procedures such as the Vampire Facial®.The Vampire Facial® is basically a combination of a micro-needling procedure, using a derma roller or medical microneedle to create tiny openings in the skin, and the application of platelet-rich plasma (PRP), which is used for wound-healing. After the openings are made, the platelet-rich plasma is applied on top of the skin, and this serves to stimulate collagen, improve blood supply, and refresh the skin. Now, there might be some concern if two different doctors will be performing these two procedures. What we do in our practice, prior to cosmetic eyelid surgery, is we clean the patient’s whole face with Betadine, even if we’re only working on the eyes. This ensures proper sterility. If you’re going to have the Vampire Facial® done elsewhere prior to the eyelid procedure, there is a potential for irritation to occur from the use of a topical antibacterial solution such as Betadine or chlorhexidine, since the skin is still healing from the Vampire Facial®.Since I do perform both procedures frequently in my practice, what I do to avoid this is do both procedures at the same time, so there’s an overlap with the procedures but no risk of any irritation. You might want to meet with your doctor and discuss this type of approach. If a different doctor is going to be doing the facial beforehand, ask how many days before that will they be comfortable with. It’s important to keep in mind that in terms of micro-needling,the deeper the needle goes, the longer the healing process will take, and more time will be needed to wait for the skin to heal well enough that the use of topical antibacterial will not be irritating and will take away the benefit of the procedure.I hope that was helpful and I wish you the best of luck!
Dear awang idin, Chalazion surgery has a quick recovery. Many patients will recover in less than one week. An experienced plastic surgeon can be found on real self.
Hi Angel. The cause of scleral show should be determined. Prominent eyes, lid laxity, medial migration of the lateral canthus, anterior lamellar/middle/posterior lamellar shortening, midfacial retrusion are just a few items to consider. While I often combine lateral canthal fixation in cases...
Typically we see this effect in the lower potions of the eye. Please feel free and send me photos and I will be more than happy to give more advice once I see exactly what you are talking about.
