Much like many of the panel members I agree that Botox may not be the best option if you are trying to reduce the masculinity of your jaw. One thing to note is that jaw muscle (masseter muscle) lends to an androgenic appearance and cause women to seek treatment. Botox can be used to reduce the appearance of the masseter muscle (jawline) and produce a less masculine jaw. In order to see results it requires multiple treatments (3-4) in order to atrophy the muscle and shrink its appearance. I would recommend you see a trained physician who performs these techniques on a regular basis.
Botox is not the best procedure for defining the jawline. Liposuction of the jawline and area beneath the chin can provide a more youthful and defined jawline. However, in looking at your photos, you might consider getting fillers for your cheeks to help create the "triangle of beauty". Placing fillers in the cheeks will help provide more definition to the entire face and create a distinction between the cheeks and jawline. This a youthful characteristic. Good luck
Botox for the jawline shrinks the back part of the jawline. You're more prominent in the front half of your jawline. I would prefer liposuctioning this area using a small incision in the lip corners. In some cases radiofrequency tightening of the skin is combined to prevent saggy skin.
If a person needs more definition along their jawline, then the simple and easy liposuction under local is a great solution and is quick and easy to undergo.
Hello,All good feedback from panel members. If you are not wanting to consider a surgical option at this time, we suggest consideration of dermal filler injections to add more volume and height to the mid face to create more of a V shape of the face. Using dermal filler to shape the face will bring a different balance to the face. The below link demonstrates the concept of shaping the face with dermal filler injections.
no, Botox will not correct your lower jaw. See a very experienced maxillofacial surgeon for your problem.
Botox in the lower face is primarily used to reduce masseter muscle bulk. That muscle is at the back end of the jaw line and makes the face look wide. That is not your issue. In my opinion, you would benefit from properly placed filler to filling your mid cheek groove, and provide volume in the chin. Be careful what you ask for out there because someone may actually do what you are asking for even if it is not the right thing.
Thank you for your question. The amount of Botox needed will vary and needs an in-person evaluation. It can take up to 7 days to see the effects of Botox and up to 14 days to see the full effects. It can take several treatments 3 months apart before noticing the effects of Botox to the jawline. This is because it takes time for the muscles to atrophy. I recommend having a consultation with an expert injector to discuss your concerns and to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!
This is a great question! If the reason for the prominent (masculine as you mention) jaw is muscle (masseter) enlargement (hypertrophy) then Botox can help slightly weaken that muscle and help to slim the jaw. I will say that the use of Botox in this case is "off-label" and is a more advanced use of Botox. Therefore, you should seek an expert in this type of treatment. If the cause of your concern is also caused by skin laxity then you may need one of many types of tightening procedures. You may also benefit from facial volumizing with Voluma in your cheeks to "pull up" the mid/lower face and jawline. If there is some fat involved, then proper use and placement of CoolSculpting and/or Kybella to reduce the fullness (fat) may be indicated. That all being said, I would make sure that you seek a provider that specializes in all of these procedures so he/she can help you develop a full plan and not just offer you one or two individual treatments. Hope this helps!
Thank you for the question and pictures. Botox can be used to "slim" the jawline by treating the massater muscle, though the area you appear to have fullness is in your cheek. This area does not have a lot of muscle mass, and I don't think you can treat it with Botox without having negative effects on your smile and mouth symmetry. Good luck!
There is no alcohol present in Botox, so you should have no issues with your alcohol monitoring bracelet. Additionally, if you request it beforehand, your provider should have alternatives to alcohol wipes for you.
Good Morning. I would recommend an evaluation with the cosmetic surgeon, depending on the cause of the droopy eyelid, you may get different recommendations. But there is a way to get some Botox injected to help with a brow lift. It would only take few units of Botox, but that number will be...
Thank you for the question. Given that 9 months have passed, the effect of the Botox should be long gone by now. I think that the next step would be to get any photographs that your practitioner may have taken before your treatment and take them to a consultation with a facial...
