I was not given the timeframe and this does not make much sense. I can't have dental work for 3 months post op but then I can with antibiotic treatment. Would this be the same Protocol?
Answer: Botox and ACL reconstruction surgery. Thank you for the detailed question. It is possible that your doctor just wasn't sure if it was safe or not and leaning towards the more cautious side so he asked that you wait, but there are no known issues with botox and ACL reconstruction surgery. Answer: ACL & Botox Most likely your surgeon is just trying make sure you are doing everything in your power to make sure there is no increased risk for infection. After an ACL reconstruction, an infection in the body could spread into the knee which could be detrimental for your surgery. However, I do not think there is any reason why getting botox injections would increase your risk of post-operative infection. It is best to communicate with your surgeon and make sure you are both on the same page.Best of luck in your recovery from surgery!

Answer: No botox before ACL reconstruction Thank you for the question. I don't think there is really an issue with having these two treatments done, and it seems to be very conservative based on a lack of knowledge or experience with Botox. Good luck!

Answer: Botox injections and surgery There is no issue having Botox on the face, and a distant surgery such as the ACL of the knee. Your knee doctor may have said this based on absolutely nothing and no experience or any real knowledge of Botox.
