Hi, I would like to know how stable a chin implant becomes after it is fully healed in regards to withstanding the kind of force that can be applied during jiu-jitsu or from the blows that realistically will land on your chin during boxing. I have read that "a pocket" forms around the implant and holds it in place, but would like to understand what exactly that means, because when I think of my face there is not much "meat"/tissue in the chin area to surround the implant and hold it in place.

Chin implants can be comfortably placed in the office with local anesthesia. In my practice, we use mini-screw fixation for all of our facial implants.
