Bellafill/Artefill seems to provide LESS VOLUME per CC than other fillers! Why???

Question

I'm basing my claim on the pictures that I see online, as well as my own (limited) personal experience with getting fillers. To me it seems like 1cc of Radiesse or Belotero provides significantly more augmentation, than 1cc of Bellafill. Im a 21 year old male who is trying to moderately augment my jaw, chin, infraorbital rims, etc without implants and so I'm going to need more sheer volume than someone who's just looking to fill wrinkles. Am I imagining things or is Bellafill less voluminous?

It is a bit difficult to compare Bellafill with fillers like Radiesse and Belotero because they work differently.  Radiesse and Belotero are mainly immediate fillers, so what is injected will give volume right away and then the result will gradually dissipate over time.  Bellafill is a stimulating agent, so the final result is not seen immediately but takes a month or so to become evident.  The immediate fill from Bellafill is very temporary and is just mainly the collagen which is there to deliver the PMMA microspheres.  The PMMA provides the long term result.  Multiple treatment sessions are required with Bellafill to obtain the desired fullness.  I would caution you about using Bellafill above the infraorbital rim, as the skin is very thin there and long term fillers can cause visible irregularities in that area.

I have seen very damaging results from patients who have received ArteFill injections.  Chronic swelling, migration of the filler.  I do not recommend it and do not use it on any of my patients.Be careful what you put into your body.

You are perceptive. 
Bellafill actually provides exactly the same volume as any of the other
fillers but it comes in a smaller volume per syringe.  Each syringe of Bellafill is filled to 0.8
cc.  There are a number of manufacturing
reasons for this and to repackage would be very expensive for the company.  In the end however, Bellafill, when used
correctly, will give exactly the same results when compared on a volume basis
rather than a syringe basis and you will not have to keep going back since your
result will be so long lasting.
