I had a breast lift revision with an anchor mastopexy after a bad round block outcome a year previous to that, the lift and shape are improved but still was left with high riding nipple areola complex. I didn't want an implant, but i am thinking about a fat transfer to help the areolas look more centered, how long should I wait? Is 6 months enough or should i wait a year?

Answer: Waiting to have that transfer You may want to include pictures if you want an assessment. Based on what you describe that transfer does not sound like an appropriate solution. Each plastic surgeon will have their own review and considering that both Liposuction and ben to transfer a difficult procedures, patient should have multiple inperson consultations before choosing a provider. It’s provider will have their own of you, so I suggest you ask each one during each consultation. Delivering consistent quality, Liposuction, and fat transfer result is more difficult than most people believe. There are major variations in outcome based on who you choose as your provider. To find inappropriately, talented provider I suggest patients have multiple in person consultations. During each consultation you can get an accurate assessment and better understanding of what the procedure can, and cannot accomplish. Breast fat transfer it is not good at shaping the breast. If you can make the best larger but it is not a good shaping procedure. A poor outcome related to a mastopexy, probably needs a different solution. Secondary or revision type procedures are generally more complex and difficult in primary procedures. This means the importance of choosing the best provider is even greater. In my opinion, there’s no substitute for having in person consultations for quality assessments, and proper vetting of plastic surgeons. During each consultation as providers to show as many before and after pictures as possible to get a clear idea of what average results look like in the hands of each provider. An experienced provider should have no difficulty showing at least 50 sets of before and after pictures of commonly performed procedures. for fat transfer results make absolutely sure that after pictures were taken at least 3 to 6 months from the date of the surgery. Early fat transfer results can look very impressive but do not represent final results. Do not assume the plastic surgeons are showing you final results when they show before and after pictures. I always confirm exact timeframe of when after pictures were taken in relationship to the procedure. After pictures should be taken a minimum of three months from surgery, but preferably, six months or longer. Good luck, Mats Hagstrom MD
