Will wearing a sports bra every night prevent my breasts from sagging?

Thank you for your question. I often recommend that patients find a sports bra that opens in the front and that is comfortable to wear. They can take breaks during the day and I also encourage breast massage after a week. It is important for your implants to move around and develop a comfortable space (or capsule) within the breast.

Thank you for your question.  I always recommend that any patient who has had breast augmentation/breast lift surgery should wear some type of support at night.  Either a sports bra or some type of shelf bra built into a shirt.Best of luck,

Wearing a sports bra at night will help your breast shape and healing for the first several months after a breast lift, but after that time, wearing a bra doesn't affect your results. The breasts will continue to shape and settle, regardless of bra wearing, throughout the first year. In my experience the only thing that changes your results after this time would be pregnancy or significant weight change of 10 percent of your body weight or more.

I do not think the average surgical bras do much to shape the breast at all. I only have my patients where most bras for comfort.

Wearing a bra during the day for the first 6-8 weeks will support the breasts as things are healing. Gravity affects things more while you are upright rather than while you are lying down however. 

Congratulations on your recent procedure.   There is no evidence that continually wearing a sports bra will help maintain the results of a breast lift.   Unfortunately, nothing can overcome the eventual effects of gravity and aging. 

Great questions. You are trying to establish some preventative care to maintain your results for as long as possible but there are two constants that will be working against you. One is gravity and the other is aging. Some tips that can help would be to prevent big fluctuations in your body weight. And to wear a sports bra during excersice activities.
