In our practice, we have tried performing  minor rhinoplasty procedures under local anesthesia many years ago and patients simply could not tolerate it because it was too painful. We now  perform all  rhinoplasty procedures and touch-ups and hump removals under general anesthesia by a board-certified physician anesthesiologist for patient safety and comfort

Small local nose revision under local anesthesia are reasonable for both surgeon and patient as they do not cost much to do and may be done in an office chair.  What you can accomplish in a humane manner, however, is limited.  Bigger jobs are best for the OR.

Under local anesthesia when done correctly a minor dorsal hump can be filed down.  Although there is still some bleeding that can be associated.many doctors perform rhinoplasties under local anesthesia and do great work.   The patient must be cooperative as well. Ask yourself, how well do you do at the dentist when they are treating a cavity and assess for yourself how you think you can handle itregards

Its really difficult to comment on this without photos. In general any type of rasping of the nasal dorsum can be uncomfortable without adequate local anesthesia. I could see this being done for a slight amount of post-traumatic or post-surgical scar tissue. Without more history or photographs it is hard to make further assumptions.

Hi,I assume that you will have a little sedation with the procedure as straight local would be very uncomfortable for you...Sedation and surgery always pose slight risk depending on your health and skill of  the surgeon.Best,Dr.S.
