I go for 2-hour massages pretty regularly. I'm wondering how long I'll have to wait after my rhinoplasty before I can go for a massage again. I'm guessing spending the better part of two hours face-down on a massage table won't exactly help with the swelling. ;)
Answer: Having a Massage after Rhinoplasty Hypoxicboy,It is normally not recommended for patients to spend time face down for such long periods of time after rhinoplasty. I would recommend waiting a few months before going in for another massage. Check with your doctor for his professional opinion as well.Hope this helps!Dr. Ali Sajjadian

Answer: Massage after rhinoplasty Waiting at least one month after the rhinoplasty procedure would be acceptable to undergoing a massage. While the massage itself and laying prone will not damage the nose, the nose may be more swollen for few hours after the procedure.

Answer: Massage after a rhinoplasty. Massage will not cause your nose any harm, however the swelling and congestion inside your nose might be uncomfortable for up to six to eight weeks after your procedure. You might want to put things off until you can breathe comfortably.

Answer: Massage after Rhinoplasty Dear Hypoxicboy, Laying face down for massage after rhinoplasty would not be advised for at least six weeks and then the time should be limited. I would clear this with your surgeon as it is also dependent on where you are in the healing process. If you need to have a massage have your massuese perform the massage laying on your back and then turn to the left and right sides instead of face down. You can still slightly elevate your head with a pillow in these positions. Best regards, Michael V. Elam, M.D.

Answer: How long before I can go for a massage after a Rhinoplasty? Spending 2 hours face down for a massage will not be recommended for a while. I would advise my patients to wait 6 to 12 weeks for that. Follow up with your Plastic Surgeon to confirm. Best wishes!
