Thank you for your question about the recovery time for a hairstylist after undergoing an arm lift, or brachioplasty. I'd recommend planning for a two-week break from work.Once you return, it's advisable to work with your regular clients for the first week, as you may still be adjusting. Three weeks post-procedure, you should feel comfortable enough to start booking new clients.I hope this answers your question and assists with your recovery planning. Best of luck with your procedure.Sincerely,Dr. Katzen
It is very likely that you may need 2-3 weeks to recover from arm lift before starting your job as a hairstylist. Good luck.
If after the braquioplasty all goes well, possibly you will be able to fully lift the arms after 3-4 weeks. After the second week (15th day) you may do something which doesn’t require raising above elbows. And gradually raise it. Be encouraged. Dr. Cárdenas
Hi! Very good question. The issue for me isn’t necessarily lifting the arms. As long as you don’t stretch out your arms you’re ok. This could be in a forward motion or up above your head. I believe taking a month off work is usually more than enough, sometimes even three weeks is ok. Just make sure your is healing properly before you start. The armpit area can be prone to dehiscence because of the humidity in that area. Keeping an eye on that will give you an idea on how much time you need off work.Hope this helps,Dr. Miguel Mota
Every surgeon has their own recipe for after care. For a full brachioplasty I require my patients to take 2 weeks off of work if they have a desk job. Anything that is more active than that it would require more time. For someone who is a hairstylist, I would want them to be off for 3-4 weeks depending if they are going to do any blow outs or not. As far as a mini brachioplasty is concerned the recovery is a little shorter, we essentially cut the times in 1/2.I would recommend you discuss your recovery with your surgeon as see what he/she recommends.Hope that helps.
You need a minimum of 2 weeks, but 3 would be better. When you do start back, do a slower schedule with some rest between clients.
Your recovery will be different than those who do not need to use their arms continuously for their careers. Depending on the extent of your surgery you may need four weeks or so off work. It would be great if you were able to return to work part time in order to allow yourself to ease into it. Wearing compression sleeves will be helpful in controlling swelling too.
Hi Whoasephy,It's hard to say without examining you, but typically my patients with more demanding jobs take 4-6 weeks. You will find that your arms get a bit more swollen with more use. Also make sure that you find comfortable compression garments. Best of luck!
Hello,It is highly recommended to take at least four weeks off from regular job duties following the surgery.
Hello, thank you for sharing your question, in the case of raising the arms, depending on the technique, it is required from one week to four weeks; we perform the lifting with laser lipo and the result is very satisfactory and they can carry out their activities for a week. I hope you consider this opinión.
