I would not have to lift arms over head, but definitely at shoulder level. How long would you suggest I take off of work?
Answer: Recovery Period for Hairstylists after an Arm Lift Thank you for your question about the recovery time for a hairstylist after undergoing an arm lift, or brachioplasty. I'd recommend planning for a two-week break from work. Once you return, it's advisable to work with your regular clients for the first week, as you may still be adjusting. Three weeks post-procedure, you should feel comfortable enough to start booking new clients. I hope this answers your question and assists with your recovery planning. Best of luck with your procedure. Sincerely, Dr. Katzen

Answer: Restrictions after arm lift If after the braquioplasty all goes well, possibly you will be able to fully lift the arms after 3-4 weeks. After the second week (15th day) you may do something which doesn’t require raising above elbows. And gradually raise it. Be encouraged. Dr. Cárdenas

Answer: Hair stylist recovery Your recovery will be different than those who do not need to use their arms continuously for their careers. Depending on the extent of your surgery you may need four weeks or so off work. It would be great if you were able to return to work part time in order to allow yourself to ease into it. Wearing compression sleeves will be helpful in controlling swelling too.

Answer: How long would a hairstylist need to take off for an arm lift? Hi! Very good question. The issue for me isn’t necessarily lifting the arms. As long as you don’t stretch out your arms you’re ok. This could be in a forward motion or up above your head. I believe taking a month off work is usually more than enough, sometimes even three weeks is ok. Just make sure your is healing properly before you start. The armpit area can be prone to dehiscence because of the humidity in that area. Keeping an eye on that will give you an idea on how much time you need off work. Hope this helps, Dr. Miguel Mota
