Hi Everybody!I'm new to this forum, but have enjoyed reading the comments back to October. I am 57 and in good shape. I decided to get my upper and lower eyelids done. They were so hooded that you couldn't see it if I put on eye shadow. I also had a neck lift. I am now 22 days post-op. I actually thought I would be all recovered in 3 weeks- NOT.Here are my questions:I have a think black line under my eyes that looks kind of like shaky eyeliner, and my eyelids are brown. Does this go away? My eyes are still sort of puffy. One more than the other. Does this go away? The incisions behind my ears are still weeping/oozing. When does this go away?I have some lumpy areas in my cheeks. Other people may not notice them, but I do. Do they go away?My ears are still tender and somewhat numb. Did anybody color their hair before 6 weeks post-op? I'm dying to cover my gray.I'm not sure how I feel about my new look. I don't miss the jowls and I like having eyelids, but I don't feel that I look like "me." I think it's too soon to judge.

Answer: Is incisions 22 days after a facelift demand the attention of your surgeon.
The short answer is no, it should not affect your long term outcome this far out after surgery. These tend to help for the first 10 days or so but are then of negligible value. Be sure to talk to your doc before discontinuing any treatment and get their input.

Your face looks quite youthful to me, but if you wish to address your jaw and neck line, you have several options. A small chin will lead to early appearance of jowling and neck laxity, and can be helped with chin augmentation or even jaw advancement, though many patients do not wish to go...
I never look at the age of the patient I look at the face, skin laxity and bone structure of the person sitting in front of me. I can see (just!) from the photos you have posted that you are beginning to lose that beautifully defined jawline you had before. A MACS type lift would work...
