I have tried EVERY temporary procedure to correct what I want corrected which is an end to my squaring face! I have had no resolve. I want a permanent (long lasting) solution so I consulted 3 area docs and all 3 said not enough tissue to do smas lift. ??? I don't get it, I can pull two inches back like in above pic and get result I want in mirror. My face WAS heart shaped like models pic I attached. I want that result. Any ideas or help if very much appreciated. Im at my wits end here. ty.
Answer: Square face due to jawls Dear rdinca, Thanks for submitting your pictures . The jawls are the reason for your square appearing face. It is not a skin problem, eventhough by pulling the skin flaps more vertically it will improve your appearance. Elevating the fatty jawls will give you your desired look. All that can be achieved with MACS face lift technique . Consult with board certified plastic surgeons who are familiar and experienced with the MACS lift technique. Check their before and after pictures to make sure that they are able to deliver to you your goal. Best of luck, Dr Widder

Answer: Three surgeons advising you against a facelift probably means you should eschew surgery. The photographs are not complete enough for a formal opinion. However, if three surgeons advise you against a procedure it probably means you are expecting more than operation can deliver.

Answer: Skin laxity not age is the deciding factor for getting a facelift. Age is not the most important factor in determining if a patient is ready for a facelift or neck lift, skin laxity is. In general younger patients have better results with facelifts as their skin is more elastic. I can’t tell from your photos what procedure would be ideal to recreate the heart shaped face you desire, but I cannot rule a face lift. Other possible options are a midface lift or fat grafting which I tend do more often in younger patients. Good luck, I hope this helps you.

Answer: Can't get any doctors to do lower facelift: Say not enough skin. True? This may be reasonable, but an exam in person to determine tissue laxity is imperative.Kenneth Hughes, MDLos Angeles, CA

Answer: Yes, I would offer you a facelift I never look at the age of the patient I look at the face, skin laxity and bone structure of the person sitting in front of me. I can see (just!) from the photos you have posted that you are beginning to lose that beautifully defined jawline you had before. A MACS type lift would work brilliantly in your case in my opinion. This could be performed under strict local anaesthetic in an appropriately equipped office.
