Is it safe to have Ultherapy while trying to concieve?

It is safe to have ultherapy treatments before you are pregnant or before you have artificial insemination. However, Ultherapy is not recommended during pregnancy. If you are really interested in Ultherapy, I recommend consulting with a board certified plastic surgeon or dermatologist and explain your anti-aging goals and your plans to get pregnant. In this situation, I recommend being as honest as possible with your physician about your plans and timing to get pregnant so that any treatments you get are safe for you and your future child. Ultherapy on the face is unlikely to affect fertility.  However, we do not recommend Ultherapy during pregnancy. Best, Dr. Karamanoukian 

I do not see a problem with having an Ultherapy treatment prior to conception.  It would probably be best not to have the treatment after you were pregnant, but I do not know of any specific issue that would arise from this.  

If you are very eager to have an Ultherapy procedure, then you can have such treatments a week or so before you start your infertility treatments.Of course, the golden rule is to not get any type of procedures during pregnancy. In this case, you should extend it so that you don't get an Ultherapy procedure while you are getting the infertility treatments to improve the likelihood of success and to prevent fetal loss. Ultherapy is high frequency ultrasound and all ultrasound treatments follow the ALARA principles for ultrasound safety. Read the Ultherapy ebook provided on the link below. 

As others have
stated, we do not recommend this procedure or any cosmetic procedure when one
is pregnant, but if you are trying to conceive and not set up to do the
artificial insemination procedure for a week, I see no reason not to tell you
to go ahead with this – the effects of the ultrasound are immediate even though
it takes time to see the end results. And if this makes you feel better, than
that is a plus in the whole picture that you are describing.

why this should be a problem. Many of these devices will say that they are not recommended
during pregnancy. But prior to
conceiving shouldn’t be an issue.

Although Ultherapy is not recommended during pregnancy, it is not known to affect conception/fertility. Consult your doctor for specific recommendations for your situation.
