I lost 12 lbs 2 months after my ultherapy treatment. will this ruin the result permanently?

Sagging faces are caused by different reasons, includling: volume loss, sun damage, and aged inelasticity and collagen loss. Similar to facelifts, Ultherapy A only pulls up sagging skin and does not replace the volume loss. Fat loss from age or diet or illness, can lead to sunken areas that no longer support the overlying skin.  In addition to Ultherapy and facelifts, volume loss is often corrected with fillers, whether Voluma, Juvederm Ultraplus, Radiesse, Restylane, Sculptra and fat injections.

Rapid weight loss can result in loose skin. The effects of Ultherapy can continue to work for up to 6 months after your treatment, so you may experience an improvement in the sagging skin compared to what it looks like today. However, odds are that you may require an additional Ultherapy treatment. Make sure you follow up with your treatment provider to compare before and after photos and determine whether another treatment will be required. Be well.

The 12 pound weight loss you had 2 months after your Ultherapy treatment should not ruin your results, but it may produce additional skin laxity.  I would re-evaluate your appearance around 4-6 months after your Ultherapy treatment and then decide if any additional treatment might be helpful.  

Weight loss will definitely affect your face. When you lose a significant amount of weight, you typically lose volume in your face which leaves sagging loose skin. This is not to say that your result from Ulthera has been ruined. The Ulthera still helped tighten and stimulate collagen, however if you do not put the weight back on you may need a second treatment to see your ultimate result.

Thank you for posting this question. A picture before and after your weight loss would have been helpful.It is agreeably nice that Ultherapy was working for you and you had positive results at three months. Further tightening will occur in the next several months. However the wirht loss causes volume loss of fat which supports the overlying skin and this can only be replaced with local fillers. 

That is true. The degree of skin tightening you receive is
not altered by subsequent weight loss. Generally a little bit of weight loss helps the appearance. If
significant skin laxity is present then extreme weight loss might accentuate
the extra skin, and another treatment of Ulthera or something more aggressive might
be necessary. However, in your case, weight loss after Ulthera does not negate
the actual results you will get.

I am sorry that you have been ill and hope things are better now. The good thing is it sounds as if the original procedure was doing well and that you were seeing nice results. Most everyone sees results with Ultherapy within 3 months and the results can continue to improve for several more months, so I would recommend you wait a few more months to see if anything happens that will make the skin tighter before I would consider another Ulthera treatment. I would, perhaps, use one of the radiofrequency devices to see if we can help some of the laxity — Pelleve, Venus Legacy, Accent, 3Deep or something similar to make the skin tighter.
