Ultherapy can induce some immediate tightening but this, for some patients, is only related to the temporary swelling microscopically that pulls on the tissues. Other patients get real immediate improvement as the SMAS connective tissue layer gets tightened during the treatment.  However, most patients develop new collagen formation which takes time, and this can cause more tightening and lifting.  Six months to a year may be needed to form such production of new collagen, It is an active process.  Be patient and when comparing the before and after photographs in six months, or more, you may see that improvement you seek.

With the ulthera treatments (and with many of our laser treatments) you may get some initial swelling after the procedure.  As the swelling subsides, you may think that nothing has happened.. The deep ultrasound stimulates the production of new collagen, but this doesn't start to happen for a few weeks.  So you will see gradual tightening over a 6 month period.  So be patient and things should improve.

Its normal to have fluctuations in your appearance during the healing time.  Full healing, to see final results, takes 4-6 months.  If you still are unhappy with your results after that time, you should discuss things with your doctor.

There may be some mild improvement initially after an Ultherapy treatment but it can take 4-6 months to see the full effect.  Since your treatment was about 6 weeks ago, your appearance should gradually improve over more time.    

Immediate changes are not expected and may be due to tissue edema. Collagen deposition in the SMAS layer and skin take 6 months and this is the time collagen maturation and remodeling occurs in most animal studies, human tissue biopsies and in clinical follow up. for fluctuations in appearance after Ulthera treatments, especially some

of Ulthera take a few months to see. I would recommend reassessing your progress
a few months after the treatment.

It's great that you have taken advantage of one of the best in-office cosmetic treatments available, namely, Ultherapy. There may be a number of factors contributing  to the change in your appearance including mild inflammation, soft tissue edema or weight fluctuations due to your diet. Collagen deposition occurs over several weeks to months so the jury is not out on your final appearance. Although some patients need a second treatment, please be patient. In my experience, patients who have undergone Ultherapy treatments have some initial swelling which may look like early tightening. However, it takes 6-9 months to develop new collagen in the treated areas. Results at this time frame are excellent, especially for a non-invasive treatment.
