I've had varying success with fillers injected directly to nasolabial folds. Sometimes I feel the filler has actually exacerbated the folds. Is there a way to place filler above the upper lip that will also reduce the NL folds? I think my facial anatomy might not be appropriate for NL fillers and I'd prefer a lower risk ( though potentially lower reward) way of managing them. Thanks!

Lip augmentation can last six to nine months depending on which filler was selected and the amount of filler injected. The key is choosing a board certified dermatologist with expertise in lip injections and choosing the correct filler based on your facial anatomy, lip shape, and desired fullness.
Yes, there are several methods that I use. You can "customize" the shape as well as height and fullness. I can even do this usually under a local anesthetic as an outpatient.
There are several causes of short upper lip: dental, long upper jaw, overprojected nose, and a short upper lip. The treatment is based on the cause and to what extent you want it treated. Go to a surgeon and get an opinion and then you can decide what treatment plan you want
