I had a gynecomastia operation 3 months back without the concern of sexual sensitivity might get effected. Doctor has removed my glends. After 3-4 months of the surgery i dont feel any sexual sensation while my wife play with my nipples. Now I am regretting for my decision. I just wondering if the sensitivity returns. My question is will the sexual sensitivity ever return?? So much upset with decision. Thanks
Answer: Sexual sensation to nipples after gynecomastia surgery... What should I expect? Thank you Abz for you very important question. It shows again that nipple sensation is as important for guys as it is for girls.Sexual sensitivity often returns to nipple after #gynecomastia surgery. Any surgery involving incision around the nipple-areolar complex can damage nerves. Liposuction alone can also alter the nerve function. In most glandular excision, a small pedicle is created containing the nipple and areola and it means that the skin is cut over 20% of the areola, approximatively, which can damage the very fine nerves. This is normally discussed pre-surgery at the time of the informed consent. The risk are similar with women and breast reduction and breast lift, yet, the risk with males is much lower. Fortunately, a reduced nipple sensation is often temporary but one may have to wait several months prior to recovery. I sometimes see the opposite: hypersensitivity in the nipples in my #Toronto patients after #gynecomastia surgery, which also tends to normalize over 6 months. So be patient for now – as it may get better over the next months to come. All the best, Dr Marc DuPere, Toronto board-certified Plastic Surgeon

Answer: Nipple Numbness The sensory nerves to the nipple are very sensitive especially to stretching caused by the implant which I believe is the most common cause for numbness rather than being cut. Fortunately as the tissues soften, the sensation often returns with in the first year. If your nipples can become erect then in my experience you will have more of a chance to regain sensation.Nipple erogenous sensation recovery and the rest of the skin of the breast where you describe numbness are from different nerves. Although it is highly likely that you may not have return of sensation, the good news is the vast majority of patients will have return of sensation within the first year after breast augmentation.#breastaugmentation#numbness

Answer: Most sensibility of the chest wall will return to normal after gynecomastia surgery. Depending on the amount of gynecomastia and the aggressiveness of the treatment most patients Have a return of normal sensibility. This may take six months or longer however.

Answer: Nipple sensitivity after gynecomastia surgery I tell all of my patients that there is a very high risk of numbness or changes in sensitivity when having gynecomastia surgery. This is because the most dense glandular breast tissue lies directly beneath the nipple, and must be removed for successful treatment. In all honestly, after performing gynecomastia for twenty years, I have had only one patient who was ever concerned about it before surgery, and he was totally ok with his sensitivity after complete healing. It can definitely take up to a year for the feeling to return. You should perform some exercises where you stimulate the nipples by pinching gently. This might help train the nerves to grow back better. Good luck.
