Is it possible to use Piezo technique for revision rhinoplasty? What about closed rhinoplasty?

The technique (open or close) is really dependent on your surgeons preference and what technique they are more accustomed to. Having said that, it is generally agreed revision rhinoplasties and where substantial changes are expected, the open technique is preferred and likely to give you a better outcome (my personal opinion too). Piezo is again is a personal preference of the surgeon and not essential. It can be used in both primary or revision cases. I think finding a surgeon with skills and experience in revision rhinoplasty is likely the most crucial aspect of ensuring a good outcome.

The piezotome is an instrument used for cutting, smoothing , rasping and drilling hard tissue such as bone. It is just a tool and all of these can be achieved by a number of instruments. The piezo has no specific advantage in rhinoplasty except that it makes it a little easier (in some hands) to be less likely to injure soft tissues, as the high frequency vibration used in piezo work requires (usually) bone to be effective.
So primary rhinoplasty, secondary rhinoplasty, closed rhinoplasty, open rhinoplasty, preservation rhinoplasty and structure rhinoplasty all require bone to be affected in some way most of the time. The piezotome is a good tool in any of these but is not necessary. Many excellent rhinoplasty surgeons do not have access to a piezotome and achieve the results using other tools.
Choose the surgeon, not the technique!
