Is it possible to hide visible cartilage graft at the tip of my nose? (photos)

Question

My cartilage graft is visible and very prominent I think I should get a revision done .is it possible to hide this cartilage .will this be very difficult and will I need to have plaster kept on my nose like primary rhinoplasty . Will there be a lot of swelling since this is my secondary rhinoplasty or will it be less since it's just the tip.please help .

There are certainly options to address your concerns. In thin-skinned patients, this is a potential issue with rhinoplasty surgery. Some options may include removing/replacing the graft or using soft tissue (fascia or perichondrium for example) to help camouflage the graft. After rhinoplasty, particularly with solid cartilage grafts, it is not uncommon for the skin to lose subdermal fat and the swelling to go down, a phenomenon known as "cartilage show." To prevent this, you can either use a temporary fascia covering or use diced cartilage to enhance the appearance of the surgical tip.

Hi amritamen,

It is possible to camouflage a visible graft on the tip using fillers, however, this is not a permanent solution. If you are open to surgery, the permanent solution will be to do a revision tippplasty. Swelling from this procedure should be less than your primary rhinoplasty.
