Mommy makeover recovery. Will I be okay to go abroad and go on a waterslide 7 weeks after surgery?

If you are planning to go on vacation after your tummy tuck, I recommend to wait 6 to 8 weeks before you do anything that will jeopardize your recovery. Your body needs the proper amount of time after a tummy tuck in order to heal. Activities on vacation will affect your health in negative ways. My personal opinion is to wait at least 8 weeks

Generally, after 7 weeks, many individuals start feeling more comfortable and have healed sufficiently.

Additionally, flying after surgery, especially if it's an extended flight, might pose some risks due to the possibility of blood clots.

I would consult with your Surgeon who did the procedure.
In general. this would be a sudden increase in physical activity/movements and your body just may not be ready for it.
If you have areas of delayed healing, they won't be ready for this. Also, it could precipitate a late seroma or other complication.

Generally, most restrictions will be lifted around six weeks postop assuming that all incisions are completely closed and there were no complications.

To be sure, I encourage you to have a conversation with your surgeon telling him/her about your trip.

Thanks for your question. At seven weeks, you will still be recovering from your combo procedure. I advise my patients to not go in the water until the incisions are completely healed. It's important to understand that the recovery process after a cosmetic procedure can be lengthy and requires patience. If you choose to fly, it's important to be aware that you may experience increased swelling. Wearing compression garments at 7 weeks post-op can also help ensure optimal results. If water sliding you might experience soreness and fatigue as your body undergoes the healing process. While everyone heals differently, I generally recommend patients wait 6-8 weeks after surgery to begin strenuous exercise and activities. The 6-8 week recommendation is an estimated timeframe and clearance ultimately depends on how you personally heal.

You would be risking your wounds opening and being left with unsatisfactory results. The first two months after a mommy makeover are the most crucial for recovery. Please do not risk it.
