Body contouring procedures are not weight loss operations. Without photos and the benefit of physical exam it's difficult to comment accurately. I suggest that you seek in person consultation with an experienced Board Certified Surgeon
Thank you for your question regarding limitations on a procedure.Photos would have been helpful and giving a full answer.I encourage you to have an in person consultation with two or more board-certified plastic surgeons in your area where you talk about your goals along with realistic expectations.
Thanks for your question. It's hard to provide any type of evaluation without seeing your pictures. I suggest you upload pictures of your front, side and back (in either a bikini or undergarments) for a proper evaluation. That said, at my practice, the max bmi requirement for surgery is 33 for a tummy tuck and 35 for most other single surgeries. The BMI is the body mass index. Based on the height and weight you provided, you BMI is 38.4. I would encourage you to consult with your primary care physician on a proper diet for you to bring down your BMI in order to be able to qualify for plastic surgery. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take Care, Moises Salama MD, board certified plastic surgeon
Hello @Independent937538, thank you for your question. It is important to note that the majority of practices have their own specific limits when it comes to performing a procedure. As your BMI (body mass index) is likely higher than these limits, and this is a measurement that helps analyze how risky and optimal the surgery can be. An optimal body mass index (BMI) of 30 should be considered. A safe and effective option would be developing a sustainable diet and exercise plan. This would aim at gradually losing weight over time till you get to a point where you can have surgery and get the most optimal results so you can maintain your figure after the procedure and have excellent results in the long run. A mommy makeover, or any other aesthetic plastic surgery procedure, is not designed for weight loss. You will lose a couple of pounds at most. Patients are advised to lose weight through diet and exercise first. Once they achieve their stable ideal weight, they can then pursue plastic surgery to eliminate loose skin and any stubborn fat.
While it is hard to say without any pictures, based off your BMI it is recommended that you are within 5- 10 pounds of your goal weight before undergoing surgery. A healthy BMI is between 15-24 with the maximum recommended being around 30. The higher the BMI the higher the chance of complications.Although highly dependent on what your aesthetic goals are, being closer to your goal weight may increase your chances of reaching your desired outcome in one procedure. An in person or virtual consultation with a MommyMakeover specialist will provide you an accurate recommendation and pricing. Respectfully,Brandon Richland, MD
Hi there and thank you for your question regarding if there are limits on the mommy makeover procedure. Without photos, it's hard to examine your body type. You mentioned you are 5'2 and 210 lbs. Where do you carry a majority of your weight? Abdomen? Hips? Buttocks? All of this depends on your body type. Do you have a history of weight loss? What procedures are you seeking out? If you want an hourglass figure and are considering a tummy tuck, I recommend you lose as much weight as possible first. This will help you get a snatched waistline from the inside. Please maintain a stable weight for 3 months before considering the tummy tuck. During the tummy tuck, muscle plication or muscle repair is performed. This will bring in your waistline by an additional 3-6 inches. After that, the excess fat and skin will be fulled down and removed. I hope this was helpful. In the future, please submit photos so that plastic surgeons can give you the best, most customized responses to your body type.Thank you and I wish you the best of luck.
Your BMI based upon a height of 5'2" and 210 lbs is 38.4 which puts you in the Obese Class II range. You should have a BMI that does not significantly exceed 30. It should also be kept in mind that liposuction procedures are sculpting tools, not methods of weight loss.
Hello and thank you for posting your question. It is impossible to say without at least photos. I see that your BMI is at 38.7. In this is all the info I have a can asume that to achieve a nice hourglass shape you would need to have liposuction plus a tummy tuck done.In any case, Plastic surgery, isn’t about weight loose procedures….. it is about body contouring procedures. So loosing some weight prior to surgery will make for better results and a safer procedure. This will in turn make it easier for your surgeon to be as aggressive as possible.Best of luck,Dr. Miguel Mota
Dear Independent937538,it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations.Daniel Barrett, MDCertified, American Board of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Plastic SurgeryMember, American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
