If I am 5"2' and close to 210lbs, can I get enough weight removed to have an hourglass figure in one procedure?
Answer: Can I get enough weight removed to have an hourglass figure in one procedure? Body contouring procedures are not weight loss operations. Without photos and the benefit of physical exam it's difficult to comment accurately. I suggest that you seek in person consultation with an experienced Board Certified Surgeon

Answer: Surgery Liposuction is not weight loss surgery but removes excess fat in specific areas. Even with a tummy tuck or breast reduction, a ton of weight is not removed. Some women are not built to have an hour glass shape even at a thin weight. Your surgeon can examine you and discuss what you may expect. Weight loss may give you a better chance of an hour glass shape.

Answer: BMI for Plastic Surgery Thanks for your question. It's hard to provide any type of evaluation without seeing your pictures. I suggest you upload pictures of your front, side and back (in either a bikini or undergarments) for a proper evaluation. That said, at my practice, the max bmi requirement for surgery is 33 for a tummy tuck and 35 for most other single surgeries. The BMI is the body mass index. Based on the height and weight you provided, you BMI is 38.4. I would encourage you to consult with your primary care physician on a proper diet for you to bring down your BMI in order to be able to qualify for plastic surgery. Please always consult with a board certified plastic surgeon. Take Care, Moises Salama MD, board certified plastic surgeon

Answer: Limits on procedure - can I get enough weight removed to have an hourglass figure in one procedure? Hello @Independent937538, thank you for your question. It is important to note that the majority of practices have their own specific limits when it comes to performing a procedure. As your BMI (body mass index) is likely higher than these limits, and this is a measurement that helps analyze how risky and optimal the surgery can be. An optimal body mass index (BMI) of 30 should be considered. A safe and effective option would be developing a sustainable diet and exercise plan. This would aim at gradually losing weight over time till you get to a point where you can have surgery and get the most optimal results so you can maintain your figure after the procedure and have excellent results in the long run.
