My lip fillers look awful. Should I get them dissolved? (Photo)

I got my lip fillers done last Monday (23/10/17) and they look horrible!! It seems like the skin above my lips was injected more than my actual lip itself. I'm so embarrassed to go out, I spent almost £300 to have even and more fuller lips and they look a mess. Should I get them dissolved? Will this resolve the issue? Not even lip liner can fix this :'(

Hello, Thank you for your question. You may need to give it just a bit more time. Wait two weeks before doing anything, as swelling can make things appear different. If you're still unhappy with the results, you can have your doctor shrink them. Good luck!

It's too soon to tell what your final results will be. You have swelling, which can last 1-2 weeks after lip injections. If you're unhappy with your final results, you can have it reversed with hyaluronidase and try a different technique next time. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thanks for your question and photos.  Sorry for your experience.  You maybe experiencing some swelling still from your injections that may go down over a few weeks.  After 3-4 weeks, if you are still having issues and not happy then go to your injector.  They can do some selective dissolving of the filler to help even them out.  Give it some time though.  Try taking motrin and gentle massage first.  Good Luck.

This could be caused by swelling. I find that it takes 2-4 weeks for filler to settle and the swelling to resolve. If you are still unhappy with the results after that time you can have it dissolved with hyaluronidase. Good Luck!

Thanks for sharing your experience and photo. Some swelling is too be expected for up to two weeks after lip filler treatment. If after 2 weeks you remain unhappy with your results, I would followup with your injector to discuss you concerns. Hyaluronic acid based fillers such as Juvederm and Restylane can be reversed using an enzyme called hyaluronidase.

Thank you for your question. After being injected with dermal fillers, you need to wait at least 2 full weeks in order for swelling to resolve so that you can see the actual results. If you are still unhappy, contact your provider to express your concerns. They may be able to even the upper lip out or dissolve the filler. Best of luck to you!

Give it some time, you just had the product injected. There could still be some swelling and it can take anywhere from 3 to 7 days. You can always ask your provider if they would recommend something to minimize swelling and bruising. Arnica Montana is widely used in reducing side effects post lip augmentation and it comes in a variety of forms (tablets or topical gels).

The lip is prone to swelling significantly after treatment and can look distorted uneven and bruised for up to 2 weeks.
Try an ice pack placed for 20 minutes to take down inflammation, ibuprofen and an antihistamin like piriton. You wont be able to assess the result until the swelling has resolved. Book a review appointment with your medical practioner. Worse case scenario that you are still unhappy with the result, then your medical practioner can use Hylase to dissolve the dermal filler.

I recommend you give it a little more time.  You probably still have some swelling.  Massage your lips a bit and wait another week or so.  If you are still unhappy, see your doctor and discuss dissolving the filler with hyaluronidase.  Good luck!

I would wait at least another week before deciding to have it removed but if you do decide to have it removed it can be done selectively or totally with hyaluronidase. See the provider that injected you for an evaluation.
