I had a breast uplift with augmentation 12 days ago. The scars are good and definitely not as bad as I thought they would be. But obviously I have an anchor scar.
Answer: Scar cream Thank you for your question! For my patients, I use surgical glue on the incisions, which takes about 3 weeks to come off on its own. When they glue completely falls off of the incisions, I recommend that my patients start using a silicone based scar cream, such as Biocorneum. Silicone is one of the key ingredients proven to optimize scar fading over time. I hope this helps!

Answer: Recommend using Plato's scar serum twice daily on scars to help healing process Plastic surgery scars require attention after surgery so that they remain cosmetically-appealing and barely noticeable. In our office, we use a protocol for scars that minimizes their activity in the 6-8 weeks after surgery. If you have late plastic surgery scars, you may also require laser and RF therapy to help reduce the longterm effects of the scarring. Keloids, hypertrophic scars, widened scars, red scars, and hyperpigmented scars all require scar modulation with topical creams followed by lasers and RF therapy. Topical skincare should be directed to a specific need, whether for pigmentation or hypertrophy and our office can guide you through the process to obtain the correct Plato’s Scar cream or Melarase cream for hypertrophy and discoloration. In terms of lasers, we would employ the vbeam laser for redness, Venus Viva RF, PRP microneedling, chemical peels, and Morpheus 8, fractional erbium, or fractional co2. All of these have their individual benefits. Most of all, we recommend you visit a solid plastic surgeon who understands surgical scar revision, laser therapy, and RF therapy for scars. Answer: When could I start using bio oil to start the fading process on my scars for my breast lift and augmentation? Thank you for your question. Every surgeon will have his/her own preferences as to recovery for specific procedures. I have patients wear a soft bra after breast augmentation for a few weeks to splint everything, and at that point the scars are generally very stable and we move to normal bras (or none) and long term scar management. Most important is a consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon regarding this procedure. Don’t settle for less!

Answer: When to Use Scar Treatment After Breast Surgery This is something you should discuss with your surgeon as each surgeon has their own protocol. For my patients I have them wait until their incisions are completely healed, usually about 10 days and then I have them start using silicone sheeting cut to fit. Good luck.
