I had 1 ml of filler under each eye as I was told my hollows were quite deep. It looked great in the office. I had no bruising at all. But from day 2, there has been lots of swelling without a bruise. The swelling did reduce over the past 10 days but still persists. My under eyes feel lumpy to touch. I need it to look better in another 15 days for a very important event. When will I see final results? At present it is not an improvement over the hollows at all.
Answer: Either too much filler, or the wrong type of filler has been used. At this point, it is unlikely that things will significantly improve. It sounds like you have had a highly cohesive filler used. These are very hydrophilic, drawing in water a few days after the application, which contributes to the lumpiness. In any case, 1ml per side is a lot for the tear trough area and I am not spruced you getting problems. You will need to have these dissolved away, and then refilled in a more conservative fashion. Best of luck for your future treatment.

Answer: Correction of fillers on the face Fillers can often absorb water in the first few days causing lumps or irregularities. I suggest applying Plato's Bruise Balm twice daily for a few days after injecting my patients. If the filler lumps do not resolve, then a small injection of Hylenex usually can correct an HA filler that is overdone. In some cases, Venus Viva RF can help tighten skin thereafter. Answer: Tear trough filler Good afternoon, I'm sorry to hear you are not happy with your treatment. It generally takes up to two weeks for filler to fully settle. If you are still unhappy at the two week point its a good idea to arrange a face to face consultation with the practitioner that treated you. This is a difficult area to treat and it is important to see a medical professional that treats this area routinely. There is always the possibility of dissolving the filler if you are really unhappy. If you do not feel comfortable to go back to the treating practitioner then choose a clinic that specialises in complications. Good luck and I hope this settles for you.

Answer: Tear troughs Thank you for the question and photos. It is difficult to answer this without knowing exactly which filler was used but I would definitely expect the swelling after any filler to have gone by 2 weeks. This lumpiness is probably a separate issue and you should definitely go back to your injector to discuss this. 1ml in each side is quite a lot for a tear trough (but not for cheeks etc) and I personally treat severe tear trough deformities in more than one sitting to avoid lumpiness etc. If this problems persists then you may need to go back to you injector and I would suggest seeing an experienced plastic surgeon in the future. Good luck! Dr Chris Macdonald CRM Aesthetics
