Has my Dermal filler in nasalobial fold gone wrong? (Photo)

Question

Almost 2 years ago I started dermal fillers restylane vital around nasalobial area with a very well known doctor. After doing that the left side fold started looking different as you can see in the pictures . It looks like something , some liquid maybe , has stuck there. The right side fold is normal although it is deeper but it in a natural way. I am worried I am gonna end up to have 2 folds on the left side as you can see already started but not deep yet. Please I really need help and your advice.

I suggest reversing the restylane and then reinjecting with Radiesse or Bellafill to get a more permanent long term result with less swelling. Cannula injections help give a more meticulous result. Best, Dr. Emer.

From the pictures, it appear that on the left side of your face, The filler has found an alternative pathway to waht the injector prefer and the products end up in that area. This is more commonly happen around the lip area than any other place.  I would avoid this area all together and try not to inject there as much as possible.

Hi Pearl2014, I suggest you see your physician to consider injecting the Restylane in the skin with Hyaluronidase to melt away any remaining Restylane in the unwanted area. Then at a later time use a cannula to inject Radiesse at a deeper plane to fix the folds.

I do see a problem. I would probably have it dissolved by the original injector. I like cannulas for all my injections.

If you are dissatisfied with the results, you could consult your surgeon and ask for the product to be dissolved.
