This is my expertise and a huge portion of my practice. Asymmetry is normal and expected. Buccal fat pad gives slimming not symmetry. Masseter botox will make you slimmer and make the jawline more loose. Fillers help give shaping and contouring. If you want perfect or close to perfect symmetry you need maxillofacial surgery or implants customized. I suggest seeing an expert to go through all options. Most of my younger clients use fillers to give them shaping especially on the cheeks, jawline, and chin which make the face look more slim and tight; and threads such as PDO or Instalift can build collagen and support the facial shaping and skin looseness over time, slowing down the aging process and given the face a more “snatched” look; and morpheus8 or PiXel8 deep microneedling RF can tighten crepe skin especially on the neck and jawline and is great for long term tightening of the full face, neck and chest; its often used to give the face a slimmer more sculpted look because it tightens the skin and gives lift. an early face lift can be performed as well even in younger clients if they want a different facial shape, maxillofacial surgery with bone breaking or shaving can also be done. For facial slimming a combination of treatments are always needed. Options include: 1. Buccal fat pad removal to reduce fat on the lower face 2. Factite or Renuvion/J Plasma to tighten the lower face, jawline, and chin to reduce fat and give the jawline and neck tightening and shaping. 3. Botox to the masseter to reduce the muscular size of the jaw giving the face an illusion of being more slender 4. Fillers to the jawline, chin, cheeks, temples and brow help to shape the face and make it more angled and defined Always use at home derma rolling (see link to Emerageskin x anteageMD roller plus stem cells/hyaluronic acid ampules) and peels like emeragecosmetics enlighten or aerify that can be used to improve skin quality and tighten the skin while improving wrinkles, pigmentation, acne, and Melasma. See an expert who does facial shaping with surgical and non surgical methods to get a comprehensive option. Best, Dr. Emer.
I'm not sure that chin/neck liposuction will change the shape of your face, but it does make people look like they have lost a lot of weight. If you really want to slim down your cheeks, I would consider Precision TX (previously known as "Sidelaze" by Cynosure - Also marketed by many as a "Laser Lift"). It's a nice little technique that uses a laser to melt fat in the cheeks and in theory it tightens skin too. It may give you just what you are looking for.Good Luck.
Thank you for your photos. In general chin/neck liposuction can improve overall facial aesthetics. I am unsure if you are candidate based on your pictures. Quality side view pictures will give this forum more information.
My preferred treatment for excess fat in the neck region involves the use of the Precision Tx laser combined with liposuction. This allows for tightening of the skin in addition to fat removal. This can be performed through a small incision in the chin crease on the neck and two small incisions behind each ear.The round face in women is sometimes attributable to hypertrophy of the masseter (enlargement of the jaw muscles). This contributes to fullness at the jawline. Botox can be used to weaken this muscle and create a more oval shape to the lower face. Many women complain of fullness in the cheeks, and some plastic surgeons will remove fat from the cheek (buccal) fat pad. I do not perform this procedure, and I caution against removing fat from the face. A round face is a youthful face; a face without fat is an aged face. Over time, the excess fat in the cheeks will keep you looking younger and younger!
Thanks for your question. Liposuction of he neck, underneath the chin and mandible does not change the basic structure of your face. If you have round cheeks you will have round cheeks despite lipo of the chin. However, it will streamline your neck giving a more appealing profile and front view. Unfortunately you did not post profile photos and so the assessment is incomplete. Consult with a plastic surgeon certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Good luck
Thanks for your question, but your photos do not show the profile and chin/neck (submental) areas so that an assessment might be made. Your jawline looks good, and I do not recommend lower facial liposuction of any kind. In fact, if you do indeed have localized excess fatty tissue beneath the chin area, I would probably recommend direct excision rather than liposuction, is the former is more uniform, thorough, smooth, and less bloody. Careful liposuction can give good results, but my direct excision patients have uniformly done better, which is why I recommend that over liposuction for this area. Click on the web reference link below for an example that shows what is possible with this technique, but not applicable for someone who looks as good as you. Best wishes! Dr. Tholen
Hi Silverset,Chin liposuction thins the neck underneath the chin area, and defines the jawline. You appear to have a nice jawline. I can't tell how your neck looks because you have a high riding turtle neck and no profile. Chin liposuction, therefore, will not thin your face. All the best, "Dr. Joe"
The photos you provided are not adequate to evaluate your neck and under chin area. An examination of your face and neck or more photos would be needed to determine if you might be a good candidate for liposuction under your chin. A profile view of your face and neck would be very helpful.
Thanks for yourquestion and photos – please make an appointment with a board-certifieddermatologist or plastic surgeon to learn the various treatment options that mightbe available for you. Liposuction of the neck may be an option but it appearsthat you have more concerns with your cheeks and thus perhaps Botox into themasseters may be most helpful. Make a consultation and see what is best foryou.
Thank you for posting aphoto. It is hard to say by the photo but you could possibly be a candidate forSubmental Smartlipo. My suggestion is to consult with your surgeon to decidewhich procedure is best for you. Best of luck to you!
I think liposuction would be safe in regards to not having any changes to your voice. It would also be the first place I would start. You do not have strong jaw definition. You do have a strong labiomental angle, meaning the angle from your lower lip to your chin.A person whose chin go straight...
While it is not common paralysis of the lower lip can occur following liposuction of the neck and chin. In most cases this is a temporary dysfunction of the marginal mandibular nerve. If the nerve injury is temporary some recovery is seen by 6 weeks although full recovery may take...
Dear Mags88, Liposuction of the submentum and neck, although seemingly simple, can be fraught with minor to moderate aesthetic complications, such as uncovering underlying platysmal bands and adherence of the skin itself to the underlying platysmal neck muscle. Even in the hands of the best...
