Has my nose bump been injected? Unusual swelling! (Photos)

Question

Hello, I had Restylane injected into my nose for the tip and the top point between the brows yesterday. I've had this twice before with the usual swelling. I saw a different doctor who says she didnt put filler on my bump but I could feel and see it straight away and it looks hugely enhanced in that area... its never done this before. Is it possible she has? Its hugely swollen around the bump and the sides of the nose, and my tip and top of the nose are minimal swelling like it usual has been?

Yes, this can be typical after injections. I would wait a full 2 weeks before judging the results. If it is after the two week wait, you can have the filler reversed with hyaluronidase.

I appreciate your concerns.I would suggest you see your injector. I see the swelling, but since you feel it's different I think it's a good idea to do a check up. It could be due to different technique.Good luck. Dr. ALDO

Hyaluronic fillers can take up to two weeks to fully settle and all swelling subside. The tip of the nose can swell more than other areas, but I recommend following up with your physician to ensure there are no further issues. Ice can always help reduce swelling. Best of luck.

There can be some swelling after injections, which will resolve in 1-2 weeks. However, if there is any redness, I recommend following up with your injector. If necessary, the filler can be reversed with hyaluronidase. See an expert. Best, Dr. Emer

Thank you for your question. It is common after hyaluronic acid fillers to have some swelling in the treated area and can take up to 2 weeks to fully resolve and see your final results. If you are unhappy with your results after 2 weeks the filler can be dissolved with an enzyme known as hyaluronidase. I recommend following up with your injector with any concerns you may have.
