I got 0.5 restylane last night and I know swelling is normal. But this swelling is unreal (especially on one side) and I don’t think my mouth can swell anymore than it already has. It hurts to talk. I just want comfort to know this swelling will go down.

Answer: Severe swelling... I appreciate your concerns. I have seen swelling like this before from lip injections. It can be quite concerning, but I don’t see anything else on the photos that worries. If you have severe pains, swelling inside your mouth or difficulty breathing then call your injector right away. Please see my video link on how best to deal with swelling and bruising after dermal fillers. Good luck! Dr. Aldo

Answer: Swelling After Lip Injections Thank you for your question. It is common to have some swelling after Restylane for lip augmentation and can take up to 2 weeks to fully resolve and see your final results. You can apply ice to your lips to help reduce the swelling. It is also advisable to avoid any NSAID’s before and after treatment as they tend to thin the blood and increase swelling and bruising. I recommend having a follow up with your injector if you have any concerns. Best of Luck!
