Can I have breast augmentation with type 1 diabetes (Hba1c <66mmol/mol)?

Thanks for the question. Yes as long as your diabetes is under control and the surgeon and anaesthetist are happy with your health condition, the procedure can be done is a safe way and you should expect a smooth post operative recovery

Thank you for your question.  Each surgeon will have their own protocol they wish to follow when a pt has medical issues.  As long as you are controlled and medically cleared it should not be a problem. Hello, thank you for your question. Your board certified plastic surgeon will require a medical clearance, if your blood sugar is controlled, you should be good to have a cosmetic procedure. schedule an email, Skype or in-person consultation with BCPS for proper evaluation. 

I appreciate your concern, but it appears that you have checked all the right boxes with regard to your impending elective breast augmentation surgery.  You should be able to undergo this operation safely. The fact that your blood sugar is well-controlled, is important for upcoming surgery. A breast lift can be done with breast augmentation so that the breasts can be more youthful looking. The breast lift/mastopexy addresses the sagginess of the breast by removing excess skin and the breast augmentation will had volume to the breast.  There are several different types of lifting including many lifts that do not have many scars. This does not necessarily mean that you need lifting though as it depends what size breast implant you want and your examination so it is not always needed.I would recommend that you see a board-certified plastic surgeon who is a member of both ASPS & ASAPS and has plenty of experience in breast augmentation & lifting surgery. Go over your concerns with them and make sure above all, you walk out of there with several options and an idea of the pros and cons to each of them as well as realistic expectations. I hope this helps and wish you all the best in your surgery and event. As you have obtained medical clearance, you should not have any issues getting a breast augmentation. Just make sure you go to a board certified plastic surgeon.Best of luck!
