Hello! I’m 18 years old, asian (Filipino) and I’m insecure about my breasts. This is because I find my areola’s on the bigger side. They are also quite puffy, especially on my left. What is the solution to this? Thank you!
Answer: Areola concerns Breasts come in all shapes and sizes, as do the areola. If you would like yours smaller and more in proportion with the rest of the breast you can have them reduced. The incision will be around the areola and will address the herniated or "puffy" appearance as well.

Answer: Areola reduction A woman's areolae can be disproportionately small or large, and the size variation is considered normal. If you are concerned, areola reduction surgery can be performed. This should also resolve the puffiness.

Answer: Nipple / areolar reduction surgery Hello, Thank you for your enquiry. The photographic information is very helpful. Your areolae are large with some herniation. Surgically, this can be reduced by excising outer areolar tissue. This leaves you with scars around the areola. Because of your skin type, this can leave you with hyperpigmentation. That usually settles over time. I would suggest to confirm this with your surgeon.

Answer: Breast Asymmetry Thank you for your question!Breast Asymmetry is normal in the majority of females and there are of course, options to look at regarding the overall appearance. I would recommend getting a few opinions from certified board plastic surgeons and to feel comfortable have all the information before going ahead. Surgery would be the best option to correct and reduce and correct the asymmetry.Areola reduction and nipple correction involves the reduction of an areola and/or the reshaping of an inverted or misshapen nipple surgically which aims to improve the cosmetic appearance of the area and in some cases improve any discomfort. Alternative forms of management consist of not treating the area surgically or in some cases medical tattooing could be appropriate dependent on the longevity of the outcome you're looking for.Good luck!

Answer: Puffy areola It is normal for areolas to be different on the same person and to be varying degrees of flat or puffy. They reduced, made more symmetric, and flattened with a simple office procedure under local anesthesia to resize the areola. Hope this helps! Johnson C. Lee, MD Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon
