Does anyone know whether smooth breast implants are more expensive to purchase from Manufacturers than textured implants please?

My PS will be using Motiva textured for my surgery. I asked for smooth. But the clinic say they only use textured. Do textured implants cost less? Does anyone know what the difference in price is for a pair of Motiva textured and Motiva smooth implants please? I'd be happy to pay extra for the smooth. But my PS's receptionist says only textured implants offered by his clinic.

Thank you for your question.  In the US, implant costs are the same whether textured or smooth implants are used from the three major implant companies. Unfortunately Motiva is not available here and I would recommend you research that company directly.  Hope this helps.

In the US, cost is the same for textured vs smooth implants, given they are similar type (eg, silicone or saline). The textured, shaped, silicone implants do cost mkre than the round, saline or silicone implants, however.

In the US there are 3 major implant providers: Allergan, Mentor, and Sientra.   All three of these companies charge the same amount for smooth round vs textured round implants.   Their shaped implants are all more expensive than their round implants.   All shaped implants are textured.

The manufacturer's pricing here in the U.S. for comparable implants would be the same whether or not they are smooth or textured. Motiva implants are not approved by the FDA for use in the US so it is difficult to comment further.

in the United States the FDA must approve any implant that is sold. The commonly approved implants are from Allergan, Mentor and Sientra. I do not know if Motiva implants are currently FDA approved. You should ask your surgeon about this carefully. They are approved in Europe. Be certain that you are getting a trusted and approved implant, not just the cheapest one. If your doctor does not have good answers to why he only uses these implants and only textured then you should seek another doctor certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Good luck!
