I've always been super insecure about my stomach area. I'm 31 years old, 5ft 1in tall and about 170lbs. I'm currently in the process of working on losing weight. I've always been interested in getting liposuction to my stomach and chin. I have had no children but I've always had this hangover on my lower abdomen since I can remember. Would liposuction help as I'm not looking to remove extra skin, or would a tummy tuck be more beneficial? Thank you

Answer: Body contouring I think that taking the first step of losing weight is exactly the right idea. I would urge you to get down to your ideal weight for your height before making any decisions. A recommendation today based on your weight would be vastly different than a recommendation once you have reached your ideal weight. Reaching your ideal weight will not only give the opportunity for the best result possible, but also allow for a much safer procedure. Good luck and congrats on losing weight.

Answer: Considering procedures From your photos it appears you would have the best result from a tummy tuck with liposuction for contouring. This would remove excess fat and skin as well as repair any abdominal wall laxity. As you mentioned that you intend to lose weight, it is best if you complete your goal prior to surgery. This will allow your surgeon to optimize your results. You can consider liposuction to address the area under your chin. You may be a candidate for Kybella, which is a nonsurgical option to address the chin.
