I absolutely hate my broad manly shoulders. Its like I have so much fat around my shoulders, collarbones & upper back. Is there lipo that I can undergo to give me a more feminine contoured shoulder area? I have read about clavicle reduction & was ridiculously quoted $38,000 by the only surgeon I found.

Answer: Reducing upper body width Bone structure is contributing but so is body fat. Reducing your weight can help to some degree. Liposuction of your arms making sure that the Liposuction is well done over the deltoids can reduce your shoulder with to some degree. You can also have liposuction of your torso making sure the treatment includes all of the under arm area and goes all the way up on your back to the top of your shoulders. Liposuction results vary immensely as does the approach. I would definitely look around for providers who seem to get the concept you’re looking for and have lots and lots of impressive before and after pictures to show that they can walk the walk and not just talk the talk. After having cosmetic surgery you may still feel your shoulders are wide and whether this is all justified is another question. I suggest starting with trying to reduce your own weight to the lowest fat level you can get on your own. Best, Mats Hagstrom MD
