How to get rid of c-section shelf without a tummy tuck? (Photos)

Question

I had a c-section back in August 2020. I formed a small c-section shelf. I would like to know is there a way I can get rid of it without a tummy tuck? I am a little against a tummy tuck due to me having keloid skin.

C-section shelf or excess tissue above the scar is fairly common.
Liposuction can remove excess fat above c-section scars in appropriate candidates.  Examination with a plastic surgeon will help determine if the excess fat is causing the c-section shelf or if it is muscle separation.
Keloids can be addressed with topicals and injections.

I would revise the c-section scar and at the same time perform liposuction that will take care of the fullness between the umbilicus and pubic region.

this can be improved with fat reduction liposuction and internal heating. the scar itself needs lasers, steroid injections, and skincare like vivatia (see link).  Best, Dr. Emer.

based on your photos, you look like a good candidate for a TT. Full tummy tuck should tighten your abdominal muscles and remove the excess skin. Flanks liposuction would give you a better shape. I would suggest you to consult a board-certified plastic surgeon because only after a thorough examination you will get more information and recommendations.

You can do liposuction to remove the excess fat and use radiofrequency, like ThermiTight, to help tighten the skin.

Hello and thank you for your question. Based on your photos, liposuction and a scar revision may be a good option for you. Because you do keloid, that still may be and issue going forward. A scar revision may minimize that appearance. I suggest speaking with a board certified plastic surgeon to address your concerns.

You have three things going on:
Hypertrophic scar from your C-section.  This may be improved with steroid injections.
Fat in the pubic area just below your C-section scar and fat of your lower abdomen.
Both of these may be treated with liposuction putting the liposuction scars within your C-section scar/
