I’ve always been aware of my jawline and my chin. I’m not sure if I would be a good candidate for a chin implant or if other procedures would be more beneficial for my side profile. My appearance changes drastically when I smile

You appear to be a good candidate for a genioplasty. Almost always recommend this over a chin implant. With a genioplasty, we can essentially move you chin into any position you like. It uses your own bone, and there is not implant needed. It will also add length and definition to your jawline. The benefit of a genioplasty is that it lasts forever, and the whole procedure is done through the mouth, which means no external scarring. I would say a genioplasty would be the best option for you to achieve your aesthetic goal. In the first photo, you do have a recessive chin profile and for which a small chin implant can improve. In our practice, we place chin implants through a small incision underneath the chin under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. We have used Implantech brand of solid silicone chin implants for over 25 years with excellent success rate.
