I’ve always been aware of my jawline and my chin. I’m not sure if I would be a good candidate for a chin implant or if other procedures would be more beneficial for my side profile. My appearance changes drastically when I smile
Answer: Why a chin implant may be right for you Thank you for your question and for the photos you provided. You appear to be a candidate for a chin implant to improve your side profile. With a custom-fit chin implant, your jawline can be further defined to provide a striking, natural-looking contour that complements the rest of your facial features. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to discuss your concerns and goals with you to help you decide on the best treatment option.

Answer: Genioplasty You appear to be a good candidate for a genioplasty. Almost always recommend this over a chin implant. With a genioplasty, we can essentially move you chin into any position you like. It uses your own bone, and there is not implant needed. It will also add length and definition to your jawline. The benefit of a genioplasty is that it lasts forever, and the whole procedure is done through the mouth, which means no external scarring. I would say a genioplasty would be the best option for you to achieve your aesthetic goal. Our office provides morph photo simulations of your expected outcome, so you have a better idea of what the result would look like. We would be happy to schedule a consultation to discuss your options further!

Answer: Chin implant Dear skylar1009, it is hard to tell for sure without an examination. If you are considering surgery, I would suggest you consult a board-certified plastic surgeon. Only after a thorough examination, you will get more information and recommendations. Answer: Would a chin implant improve my jaw line In the first photo, you do have a recessive chin profile and for which a small chin implant can improve. In our practice, we place chin implants through a small incision underneath the chin under local anesthesia as an outpatient procedure. We have used Implantech brand of solid silicone chin implants for over 25 years with excellent success rate.
