I have an under bite. From the photo below, I have photoshopped how my chin would look like with the implant All photos with number 2 are photoshopped I am not happy with how I look, especially when I clean shave, I feel like I have a flat face, I understand genioplasty is a major surgery and considering the less invasive treatment. From my undestanding the b chin implant will help with my profile however it will not help with improving my smile? This is where Genioplasty comes in? Thank you
Answer: I recommend either a chin implant or fillers Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are both surgical and non-surgical options to correct this. We can place a chin implant, which is a quick surgical procedure. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, however, so for those patients, we also offer non-surgical chin augmentation with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse, Voluma, BellaFill, and Sculptra are injected into the area to improve the overall appearance of the lower face and balance the jaw and lip harmony. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline, and improve the chin crease. Implants are a great option once you are ready for permanent chin enhancement. I suggest getting a consultation with an experienced cosmetic dermatologist and facial sculpting expert, or an aesthetic facial plastic surgeon like Dr. Donald Groves; we are both located right here in Los Angeles. Best, Dr. Emer

Answer: Consider your options for improving your jawline Thank you for your question and photos. You may benefit from a chin implant combined with liposuction to create the result you’re looking for. A custom-fit implant can increase your chin’s projection and define your jawline for a masculine, natural-looking contour. Combining this procedure with facial liposuction can create an even more sculpted appearance and well-defined jawline structure. I recommend scheduling an in-person consultation with an experienced, board-certified facial plastic surgeon. They will be able to discuss your concerns and goals with you to help you decide on the best course of action.

Answer: Genioplasty A chin implant will not get you the results you are looking for. A genioplasty is a larger procedure, but the results will be better and last forever. This would bring your chin forward and down, creating more facial balance and the projection you are looking for. It will also add length and definition to your jawline. All of the incisions are made through the mouth, so there will be no external scarring. A chin implant will leave a scar under your chin. Our office provides morph photo simulations of your expected outcome, so you have a better idea of what the result would look like. We would be happy to schedule a consultation to discuss your options further!

Answer: Chin surgery You are a candidate for both a genioplasty and/or chin implant. However, I would also recommend submental and jawline liposuction and a simultaneous platysmaplasty to improve your cervical mental angle and improve the definition of your neck and jawline.
