Been told I’m a candidate for genioplasty, can I achieve the same aesthetic results with a chin implant? (photos)

Hello and thank you for your question. A formal evaluation would be needed to determine the best treatment. There are both surgical and non-surgical options to correct this.

We can place a chin implant, which is a quick surgical procedure. Many of my patients try to avoid surgery, however, so for those patients, we also offer non-surgical chin augmentation with injectable fillers. Fillers like Radiesse, Voluma, BellaFill, and Sculptra are injected into the area to improve the overall appearance of the lower face and balance the jaw and lip harmony. We use cannula injections to meticulously contour and project the chin, soften the chin along the jawline, and improve the chin crease.

A chin implant will not get you the results you are looking for. A genioplasty is a larger procedure, but the results will be better and last forever. This would bring your chin forward and down, creating more facial balance and the projection you are looking for. It will also add length and definition to your jawline. All of the incisions are made through the mouth, so there will be no external scarring. A chin implant will leave a scar under your chin. You are a candidate for both a genioplasty and/or chin implant. However, I would also recommend submental and jawline liposuction and a simultaneous platysmaplasty to improve your cervical mental angle and improve the definition of your neck and jawline.
