Sorry to hear about your heart attack. Botox can be injected after such a problem without concern. See an experienced injector for your treatment. Good luck.
Botox may be used after a heart attack. There are many drugs that have many side effects, Botox is one with few if any side effects if done by an expert injector. I have been using Botox for over 20 plus years and have found it safe. There are on gong studies that it may even help depression. Depression being seen often after a heart attacks.
Thank you for your question. It is not a contraindication to have Botox injections after a heart attack. I recommend having a consultation with expert injector to discuss your concerns and to determine the best treatment plan for you. Best of Luck!

Hi Denise,While there is no medical reason to believe Botox treatment would be contraindicated after a heart attack, I would urge you to rest up and fully recover before undergoing any cosmetic procedures. Take care!
Botox works in the muscle at the site of injection. With proper technique, it should not travel in the blood stream or affect your heart. That being said, a heart attack is very serious and your cardiologist gets priority in deciding whether you are cleared for new treatments of any kind. Botox injections are not dangerous in your situation. After a heart attack it is likely that you have been placed on a blood thinner. This is not a scary combination; however you will be at higher risk for bruising at the site of injection. Keep an open dialogue with your Botox injector and your heart doctor. Together you can make the decision to proceed.
When Botox is injected it stays in the place it is injected, so it doesn't go into the bloodstream to effect another organ, like the heart. Once you feel up to it, there is no reason why you shouldn't be able to have Botox again. Hope you recover from your heart attack quickly.

Hello Denise111,Sorry to hear about your heart attack. Assuming you have no weakness then Botox would not cause a problem in the setting of a heart attack. The only risk is if you get a lot of pain with Botox then it could stress your heart further (although it is rare to have any significant pain with Botox injections). To be safe, I would ask your cardiologist but it should not be an issue. I hope you have a speedy recovery from your heart attack.
