Thank you for your question. It can take up to two weeks to see the full results. If you do not see a difference after this time, I would recommend visiting your treating physician for additional touch-up injections. Also, always ensure that you have your injections administered by an expert injector and board certified plastic surgeon. Regards,
Thank you for sharing your question and your photos. Botox takes effect at different rates for differentpeople. Usually, we inform our patients that is can take up to 2 weeks to see full results. I would advise you to wait until the 2-week mark and, if you see no improvement at the point, contact your injector. It is also possible that you need additional units to achieve your desired result.
Thank you for your question and photographs. Botox effects each person differently based on their sensitivity to the medication. Some are early responders and have effects within a day or two of injections while others may take a full 2 weeks to reach maximum effect. Allow yourself more time to assess your results and if you continue to have full muscle activation at two weeks speak to your injector.
I understand why you are frustrated. Many patients are able to see their full results within 3-4 days, but for others it is more like 7-10 days. Wait a few more days and if you notice a change. If not, go back to the doctor that treated you so he/she can examine the treated area. If this is your first time being treated with Botox, there is a chance that 42 units was not enough.
It sounds as if you had 42 units of Botox spread over the glabella, forehead, and crows feet. This is a sub-therapeutic dose and the results from it are likely to be underwhelming. Secondly, it takes 2-7 days for the Botox to start working with the "result" taking about 2 weeks. However, if as mentioned you opt to have Botox dosing below dosing guidleines, you aren't likely to be as happy or happy for as long with the ersult.
Patients with strong forehead and glabella muscles and therefore strong forehead horizontal lines and in between eyebrows lines ("11's) may require significant amount of Botox to smooth /prevent these lines from forming. This is very common in patients of italian descend. In my practice patients with very strong forehead lines require at least 15 to 20 units of Botox in the glabela ( between the forehead) and 30 to 40 units of Botox in the forehead, for a total of aprox 60 units when standard concentrated Botox dilution is used. If patients are candidates for diluted Botox, the dose requirements are lower ( aprox 10 for glabella and 15 for forehead) since in my hands, diluted Botox has a very strong effect compared with concentrated botox).Sometimes, even when using hight doses of Botox, patients may require a touch up of their treatments to achieve the desired effect. Patients that undergo Botox applications and are not completely satisfied with their results should go back to their primary injector and discuss with him/her if a Botox touch up is necessary.
Thank you for your question. It's a common one. While somepatients see results after only a few days, I generally advise patients thatthe full effects of BOTOX treatment take up to 2 weeks to appear. This isbecause the botulinum toxin actually works by blocking the chemicalacetylcholine from being received by the nerves that activate your musclefibers. In order to achieve this, the toxin needs to gradually spread andaffect nerve receptors throughout the injection sites, at the cellular level. Aheadache after treatment is also a known side effect, but if it persists beyonda couple weeks, I would suggest alerting your provider. Best of luck.
Generally, Botox will typically begin to"kick in" after 4-7 days, but some may see results earlier. The fulleffect of the injection is usually seen after 7-10 days so two weeks after yourinjections is a great time for a follow-up with your injector if you are notgetting the results you desire. Additional injections may be given at 2 weeksif more correction is desired/needed as each patient's effective dose is a bit different. It is best to find and stick with the product/dosage as well as an experienced, Board Certified Plastic Surgeon or Dermatologist for optimum results. Unfortunately we have no idea what you were really injected with and what kind of training and certification your provider has had. It is best to always seek such medical treatments from experienced and board certified dermatologist, facial plastic or general plastic surgeons.
Thank you for your question. While Botox can kick in within a few days in some people, it can take above 2 weeks to achieve full effect. Therefore, I recommend waiting 2 weeks and if there is no change at that time, follow up with your injector.
