A few years ago I got botox to relax some forehead lines and it did a great job but family told me me eyebrows looked like they dropped down. Likely because I was using my forehead muscles to lift them, thus causing wrinkles. My girfriend at the time also got botox but her eyebrows lifted giving her a "model" look. What causes this difference and how should I explain this to the doctor performing the procedure?

Answer: Botox browlift Botox works by relaxing the muscle. In the forehead this decrease in movement may reduce the appearance of wrinkles. Keep in mind that lines that have become “etched” in the skin may remain even with the reduction in movement. Botox is an effective preventative procedure in the anti-aging process. To achieve a lift of the eyebrow, an expert injector familiar with facial anatomy will be able to access your muscle movement and recommend options to meet you aesthetic goals. Best of luck!

Answer: Botox Does Not Lift Anything Botox and its equal Xeomin paralyses muscle. Frontalis muscles hold up the eyebrows. If you paralyze these muscles, the brow drops. The illusion of lateral brow lift can occur when the frown lines are treated and some medial brow drop occurs. A way to achieve lateral brow lift is to inject the lateral lid muscles that exert some down pull, and limit lateral brow injections. Thus the lateral brow muscles pull up against the weakened lateral lid muscles which pull down. Botox and its equal Xeomin does not lift anything, but playing muscles against each other can be interesting.
