Very itchy incision 10 days post op of BA (Photo)

Thanks for your question! As your incisions heal, it is common to have itchiness. I would reach out to your plastic surgeon to see what he/she recommends to alleviate these symptoms. Good luck! 

Congratulations on your breast augmentation. What are you are describing is a normal part of the healing process. Although it’s tempting, avoid scratching your incision sites, as this can interfere with your recovery. Contact your plastic surgeon and let him or her know that this is bothering you and ask for suggestions for how to alleviate the itchiness. Many times, an oral or topical antihistamine can help to curb this sensation, but it’s best to check with your doctor before starting a new medication during your recovery.

Itching at the stitch line is a usual part of the healing process. If you have any concerns or getting redness / discharge see your PS.

Good Morning and thank you for your question. Your incisions looks as they are healing well, some itchiness is expected as part of the healing process, however, I recommend you to discuss all your concerns with your board certified plastic surgeon. 

You may be having an allergic reaction to the tape or steri strips that were on the incision.  Removing the tape will help.  Call your Plastic Surgeon for further care.  I usually recommend over the counter steroid cream.  It also could be an early infection.  Please call your surgeon.

As others have mentioned it is not uncommon for incisions to itch  10 days after breast augmentation.  However  if the itching is intense or redness develops  you may have an allergy to the table of the Steri-Strips or the blue.  If this does happen then topical steroid treatments  can be beneficial.  I suggest to see her plastic surgeon for an examination and a decision whether he should use topical steroids.
